I thought they were going to do that this time around?

Are we stuck with it now?

Safer to say development is continuing on trueSpace :)

We did get Booleans ported over AND improved. They now have construction history. I'd say that's a fair bit of progress for a point upgrade. ;)

ok, as long as we're not stuck with it. Thanks.

I just hope it won't be another year.

They've been porting the tools from the Model side to the Workspace since tS7 first released. Although, I would say the word "porting" is a little misleading. That gives the idea that they are just moving the code from the old architecture into the new one. That is not the case. They are completely rewriting the tools in the new architecture from scratch. They often rewrite them with much more power though, like the new booleans.

There are definitely still some tools that I would like to see rewritten into the new architecture (lathe comes to mind), but a lot of the main tools are in the workspace now. Many new and better tools are there as well.

Edit: Not sure what you mean by "stuck with it". The new architecture will surely continue to grow, and at some point the model side will no longer be needed and cut off.

Paths and splines would be nice. Taper, twist, and bend as well.

Overall though I'd say we're most of the way there. My guess is that this will likely be the last version of TS with Model side in it. :D

There is ONE THING I WANT SO BADLY on the workspace side and that is PATH animation. I want to draw a spline path and have my object or character follow the path ON the workspace side. I realize there have been a few WORKAROUNDS in the past about getting the spline paths in to workspace side. Like this post ..

... but that really is a pain. I cant complain though. There are so many things going on right now. Too much fun

Even better than path animation would be animatible path deforms. For stuff like growing vines and things. :D
