Hi,

It's my first time using Vray render and did a test animation. Used HDRI rendering but can't seems to get those flickering away. Please see attached. What causes it? I tried other object with textured map also having same problem, and the texture looks very low resolution.

Can anybody help?

Hi James,

Have you tried using a higher HDRI sample setting? Something like 80 or so?

Also the low res texture issue could be caused by a couple of different things. First off, are you using a VRay material? Can you show screen grab of the material settings?

If one is following the V-Ray1.0 for trueSpace video course by Marcel Barthel,

Isn't there a slight change in GI calculations and such from Vray for trueSpace version 1.0 to 1.53?

Scenes made with the 1.0 version had to be re-tuned somewhat, in Vray render settings panel, for the 1.5x version?

Hi, by the way, after my Vray installation of 1.53, the GI setting seems to have gone. I can't right click on the render button to bring it back. Is this a bug?

You might also try saving the light map, so that it is calculated once and then the same map is used in every frame. Looks like its being recalculated in each frame, and never comes out exactly the same of course (I believe such rendering involves statistics and chance), and saving the mapping might work - but it's been a while since I looked into it so not sure if that would make a difference.

Raising the settings as Jack suggests could help also.

Keep us updated!

Thanks!

Tom

You cross-posted each other :)

To bring the Vray (GI settings) panel up, right click on the render icon at the bottom toolbar ( yes, the very same icon that can only be successfully left-clicked while in Workspace  ).
