As I have never attempted to use either Pixie's or Aqsis' libraries, and as I'm not sure in what manner you use 3Delight either, it is entirely possible that they still do not provide exactly what you need. For all I know, they may simply allow for the writing of .rib files to be loaded by a renderer at a later stage. As you obviously have a working version of your plugin right now, it's not something to waste too much time on unless you'd happen to see a particular benefit that would make it worth your while.
