You're off to a great start here. I like the infinite regression - the picture of a picture of a picture...
Is that the real view from your window?
Speaking of the window; most windows have more detailed construction than what you're shown here. Window frames always seen to have lots of corners and edges and planes to them - try to reproduce the actual shape of the window frames. Having convincing window frames will really enhance the sense of this being a real room and really help to 'sell' the picture IMHO.
Looking great so far.... |

I was going to say the window looked a little flat, but Wizard's beaten me to it there... you probably need to see the frame being recessed into the thickness of the wall and a window sill/ledge at the bottom.
Do you really have no skirting board at the bottom of the walls?
I think your curtains could do with softening - at the moment they look a little like they've had the creases ironed in!
I like the general look, so look forward to seeing how it shapes up. Nice job. |

[QUOTE]I don't :D I think most of the crits have been covered, though a power outlet would add to the scene |

Who has an unused outlet that close to a computer?
Plug something in! (Time to play with NURBS lofts!)
I'd agree that the window frames need a little fancying up... windowsill, some more molding, hardware, recessing into the wall, etc. They still look a little flat, like they are a picture frame.
I see light and shadows, but no obvious fixtures or source.
Keep going! |

Yeah, that's coming along nicely. One thing I'm curious about - is your PC case really that big? Looking at the distqance between the top of my PC case and the surface of the desk I can't help wondering if your PC model is a little over-scale. Just a thought. |

And/or the desk top is a little low. The chair looks just maybe a touch out of proportion as well, but it's hard to say (measuring tape time) ...
In any case, lookin really good!

It doesn't look that big to me. Mine's about 48cm tall [not including the feet or the fan-&-extra-ports... thingy on top], & that's not the biggest I've had. |

I'll add wires soon and my comp is slightly smaller so ill fix that. It's not an XPS, the case is called Mutant X.
Hmm... http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alien42/smilies/google-animated2.gif Yeah, it is a bit smaller (http://www.kingwin.com/pdut_detail.asp?CateID=46&ID=177) than mine (http://www.fortrex.com.tw/show_product.php?proSN=133), in which case [no pun intended] W!zard was right. You still have the older window frame on the Monitor Screen. I like the new window and the rendering. Very nice an neat unlike the "Show us your room" thread...:) |

Yeah! That window looks WAAAY better. The whole thing still looks a bit... er... minimalist. No pictures on the wall, no coffee cup on the desk or rubbish bin on the floor. No wires between the PC and the monitor or the power point. It looks rather surreal at the moment - I like the view out the window though and the windows themselves are a big step forward IMHO.
Keep working it... |

Whoa, that's one high desk! Is it so you can rest your chin on it rather than your elbows? :-)
The new lighting has more indoor warmth but I think you've over done it a tad.
Coming along nicely though - keep it up |

Can say something??
Your room looks good.. but, the lights in your room... it seems to have not walls at all! I think the light must come from the window, from the computer screen or any other light emitter.. like a bulb..
:jumpy:
Best Regards. |

Look where the armrest are on the chair, should be even with the table top. So that your elbows resting would be level with the keyboard. You probably picked the wrong high back chair for a rendering from this angle. You won't see your computer monitor. |

A suggestion if I may? Look for a suitable photograph, in a magazine or on the net (Google is your friend!). Use this as a guide to scaling the components of your picture. Remember the brain tends to see what it thinks it should see rather than what is actually there. A decent rteference photo can save you aqn aweful lot of guesswork when it comes to the relative scale and position of things.
A good reference picture can also give you insight into how to set up your lighting. Your most recent lighting arrangement looks a little like someone removed the roof and walls and let the afternoon sun into the room! I often start with a single light source and then work from there.
Hope this helps and don't loose heart - it's all good learning even though it can sometimes get a little frustrating. You are well on your way to a presentable picture IMHO. |

Looking at the height of your computer cpu, I'm not sure it's so much a case of the desk being high as the seat being too low...
If you're working to 'true' scale, easiste thing os just to go meausre the height of the desk top from the floor, likewise the height to the seat cushion...
Another trick is to export a seated figure from Poser or similar to help with scale matters... |

Much better... Now (i think) you must work in the camera angle... :p
Or move the chair...
Good work... |

MUCH better!! You're starting to get there. Still looks a bit sterile to me though. Some wires connecting the PC components, the chair at a bit of an angle. The room needs to look 'lived in', I think.
Good work though. I like the purple glow. |

If you lowered the back of the chair a bit and set it at an angle, I think you would have it perfect, but that's just me. |

Now some dirty socks on the floor along with some sports shoes, one turned over on its side of course.
Kidding!
It looks just fine to me! :D |

very nice angeling the chair definatly helped. Is it "reflecting" the scene out the window, or a window oposite? |
