Well now that the dust has settled.

One of the often requested features for VRay has been layered textures. Has the focus on new features for VRay vaporized? This last download had bug fixes only with no new features. Is there further development planned for VRay?

I hope it's not dead. We could really use those layered textures.

I agree layers would be great to have. VRay material editor would have to support layers first though...

Can't comment on what may or may not come in V-Ray's future. Can say that there was little point working on new features with the bugs in place, so removing those was top priority and no other work was done other than ensuring what was there already actually works.

HTH!

Yup I agree. A working VRay plugin was much more important.

I hope we are all happy now with a DEAD plugin...
No layers in our future. No more features. No more new users.
No more development.

Prodigy just jumped out the window...

well.. I just hope that the next version of TS supports v-ray. It's expensive enough that I want to continue using it until it becomes available, or until something better starts working.

I would like this too, however I don't think it will happen. They said that they've stopped developing for it, this means that any new functionality that appears in ts probably won't support it either.

In any case, version 8 was supposed to be the first without modeler, so I won't be throwing away 7.* for quite a while yet.
