Aha, I made a typo...it is actually the depth setting that should be 1.

On the right hand toolbar (minimised by default) in model side, is the render toolbar and about half way down is an icon that looks like three coloured glass balls (well, that's what the icon actually is). It says, enable raytracing. If you R-CLick it you get the options box. The bottom setting (depth) is at 10 by default...set it to 1 for Dribble renders...:D

Mr. 3D. I may be wrong but I think this question is more about good lighting techniques rather than where the lights are etc. Plus Dribble is model side only.

Search the Dribble tests and renders thread and you will see a variety of renders...they should also have some tips on how they were set up.

Personally, I use a local light and or spotlight for seeing basic renders, perhaps trying GI or HDRI if I need it but it slows the render down...a lot!

Also, R-Click on the raytrace icon (right toolbar) and set Ray Limit to 1...that speeds things up a lot...:D

Splinters, When I view that thread I can't see any of the pictures.

I really wanted to see them :(

Thanks everbody.

Sorry about that, I had to remove some pics but I thought there were some other images with lighting setups. If I get time today I will post some images and tell you how they were lit. Hope that will help get you started...:D
