I sometimes forget how extremely easy it is creating physics using procedural clips. And how you can interact with the characters or objects while the procedural clips are making their keyframes. This quick couple minute test that I put on a terrain with the terrain generator was just a couple physics procedural clips that I manipulated while they were keyframing. Couple minutes to do such complex stuff.

You should create a thread in the Image Gallery or something to place all of your videos instead of having them spread all over the forums. I've seen lots of good videos that you've made. :) It would be easier to find them if they were all in one thread. ;) |

Hi Dele, Iam posting these not to promote anything (like Iam making money off my love for Truespace) but to show some things that can be done with Truespace. I remember when I started Truespace, I loved (and searched out) when someone posted anything AT ALL that they did with Truespace. I do not know why this would bother you at all??? or why you would bring this up???. It you guys want to ban posts of people excited about Truespace and showing what they are doing that is fine. Anyway, I do not spread these all over the forums. Come on... lets post stuff we are doing and have fun with Truespace instead of being critical and ????. :jumpy:

I don't think he was being critical, I thought his comments were complementary towards you and what you are doing. What you might have missed was his suggestion to put your videos in 1 place so that others can see what you are creating as well as what TS 7.6 is capable of. You are doing some fun and interesting experiments, I am sure others would love to see "all" of the work you are doing :)
:jumpy::jumpy::jumpy: <=== notice happy smileys, it must be a nice message if it has happy smileys :)

No, his post was as if he was irritated (or he would not of brought up the subject). Iam not mad just perplexed. I have been using Truespace 20 years and I probably promote it more than anyone on the web. I do it to promote fun and excitement with Truespace. I get dozens of emails a day from people emailing me about Truespace. So, I just dont know why he would be bothered (or bring up) by my posting ANY WORK AT ALL in this forum topic.

yes, definitely jhowell. Dele was just recommending that you consolidate your videos. In fact, I think this suggestion came up earlier, to consolidate a lot of videos for tutorials. It's hard to do though, that's for sure!
But no, definitely no complaining that I can see.
You've got some cool stuff there man! :D
EDIT:
Mind you, there's absolutely nothing wrong with posting where you wish. :D |

You misunderstand me jhowell. There's nothing wrong with you posting stuff in the Roundtable, I was just suggesting that it may be better to consolidate your videos in a single thread, that's all. You've got a lot of great videos that show off the possibilities in tS. It would be easier for people to find them all if they were consolidated in one thread. :)
I had no intention of attacking you or your work. Sorry if it came across that way. |

Sorry Dele for my over reacting. My thinking was that the roundtable forum should be for users to post what they want (of course unless it REALLY should go in one of the other categories) for general posts. I have read this wonderful roundtable for years now. People will post subjects and long threads SOMETIMES in the roundtable not even pertaining to Truespace and 3D which I love reading. No one seems to complain. So, I was just taken back by your comment of me posting an example of my work in this category and should maybe post elsewhere. My video example and comment was not really a work in progress.. or something for the new users section. So I posted here. Just a comment with a video example. Anyway, I understand what you are saying. I just wish more users would be posting lots more of what they are doing with Truespace. Maybe we should have an EXAMPLES OF WORK forum category in addition to the WORK IN PROGRESS category. hmmmm :jumpy:

I started a trueSpace Repository sometime ago. I thought it would be useful for folks to keep track of their creations etc...
The idea was for each user to supply links and not post comments in that thread.

Thanks for the suggestion trueblue. Sure would be nice to have a MAJOR category for works completed by members. For example, WORKS IN PROGRESS has had almost 16,000 posts. Your respository thread is awesome but lacks much posting support or views. Not much action as it is not a major forum category and not many people know its there. My thinking is that since there are so many more new Truespace users coming on board that for them to show off their completed works in a major forum category would be so cool! (and I bet very popular once people know its there). This forum is really getting popular and Iam sure there are many like me that would love to post our little odds and ends works to a major category that would get viewers and comments. Iam sure it is just a matter of the forum administrator adding another category. Something similar to the WORKS IN PROGRESS category. Just a thought ... :jumpy:

I like that idea too jhowell. Perhaps a forum called something like "true Lab"? A place where people could post images and animations that show different tests they've done in tS and any examples of things tS is capable of. It could be a good repository for how best to get models into tS from Poser, how best to export to VE, etc. It could also make it easier for Caligari marketing to find good images and animations to use in their promotions and advertising. I think a forum like that would be an all around win. :)
I vote for it. ;) |

Now that has me excited. That is even better than I had envisioned. I will keep my fingers crossed. ... So, instead of always checking out youtube and other places for work done in Truespace I could just go to the TrueLab section of our forum. Or, if I had comments or questions on exporting importing to and from other softwares would not have to go searching other softwares forums. Nice thing about that being a major forum category is that it should get lots of interest. :)
