I always hated the way that the flash courses were files in separate folders so I have put together HTAs for the flash courses and then went on to put something together for the rest which used an embedded windows media player to play back the videos.

I don't know if you'll find them useful but but i just find it easier to use the courses. I've attached a rar file that has 33 files, one for each course, that have names that are fairly similar to the courses themselves for easy identification. For the ones with wmv/avi files, pop the file into the same folder. For the flash courses, pop it into the folder with all the sub-folders...if that makes sense.

As long as you haven't renamed the videos and/or folders then this should work just fine.

Most of these HTAs will work on 1024x768 but some of the newer courses need 1280x1024 to work...

As always there is room for improvement so if you improve on them please post.

enjoy.

I think it would be so much easier if the videos could be streamed, I would be willing to download everything and slowly load onto my server for streaming which could be accessed by anyone, but not sure if Im legally allowed to do so

Hey, cool. SWF files were playing back through IE7 before. I had to go through the annoying ActiveX security check every time and even worse there didn't seem to be any way to partially rewind the video. This solves all those problems. Sort of a must have utility.

edit: Oops. Upon further review I see I have been opening the swf based tutorials incorrectly. Should click on the .html file instead of the .swf file. However, the organization the HTAs give to the courses is well worth it.

It's an HTML page on steroids.

Hypertext Markup Language Application (HTA)

i.e. being an application it can run just like an exe file.

I've actually made some enhancements to them along with a course contents - problem is the index needs to be updated to work on however you structured your directory...

may post it later once I've tested it properly.

Perhaps I should throw a caligari/truespace logo in there too...
