I rarerly use Maya but Maya's paint effects is pretty amazing. Hundreds of cool paint effects objects and ways to paint objects and effects on to other objects. Nice to know that using the Luuv plugin on the model side of Truespace that the paint effects import nicely in to Truespace. Example below was done in about 30 seconds then imported in to Truespace. There is a free learning edition of Maya if you want to play with the Paint effects. Iam working right now on importing the cool Maya ocean effects in to Truespace :jumpy:

I have had Maya for about 5 years or so. Rarely use it ... except for paint effects and ocean effects which I export to XSI. I wish there was one program that had all the features we need. XSI is my main program and Truespace. I just fired Maya up I was amazed how easily Maya imports in to Truespace. The modo modeler interest me but cant afford it. Plus looks pretty complicated. :jumpy:

p.s. here is a quick Maya ocean render with paint effects. Trying to get ocean in to Truespace ..

Hi rjeff. Iam still working on OCEAN and will let you know when I get that totally figured out. Mayas OCEAN, PONDS, BOATS, etc is awesome. But need to get it in to Truespace. Maya makes it Ocean of course with NURBS. You then need to use the Maya MODIFY/CONVERT NURBS TO POLYGONS. What Iam having trouble with is exporting the textures from the OCEAN. As mentioned below Paint Effects is a breeze. Just create your PAINT EFFECTS in Maya and use the MODIFY/CONVERT PAINT EFFECTS TO POLYGONS. Then export as OBJ (you will have to get the free BONUS TOOLS which has the OBJ exporter here http://area.autodesk.com ) then import via the OBJ LUUV plugin on the Model side of Truespace. Once I get OCEAN and a few other things in to Truespace I will be a happy camper. :jumpy:
