I'm still struggling with this, this was something that always gave me trouble in TS7.51 also, unfortunately I am unsure of what I did mto work around this.
Description:
Make a 3D object in PSCS3 using the Vanishing Points Filter.
The building I am working on is a simple rectangle with a couple of steps in it.
Save object as 3DS
Open TS go to Model side and load the 3DS file
Object comes into TS Model side correctly with no errors.
Go to WS side
Object is there, but there are no textures
I think I had to load the textures in a Texture Library I created than I had to load them onto the mesh... Is this still the method? Or am I missing an easier way?
Thanks for the help.

Maybe these will help. It appears that there is a texture and UV's on the object.
I tried to load the textures manuall thru the ME and the UVE in WS side...
Any ideas what simple thing I am missing?

If you use Model's Inspect material tool. You should see your images in trueSpace76\tS\RS Tmp Textures folder. Then from Workspace reload them into your material from that folder. If you close trueSpace they will be removed from the folder. |

What file format are your textures? I just loaded a 3DS object into the modeler with textures and then went to workspace side. The textures all came over to the workspace with it as vRay material. I used jpg as my texture file format.
Edit: I just tested with png format for the textures and those came over too.
In both cases my textures were in the same folder as the 3DS object I was importing. |

Png's, I am not using VRay, DX... The mesh is that white and no matter what I do it remains that way. I have loaded the texture into the UVE and that did not work, I have loaded the texture into the D3D ME and that did not work... I'm kinda confused what has happened here... I'll try a single plane created in Model and see what that does...
Thanks for the help and suggestions

Not sure here, so just ideas. What are the resolutions set to for your real-time image textures? Right click in Model side on any of the real-time modes (solid, wireframe etc) and you should have 3 settings for textures - real-time workspace, real-time Model, and Lightworks. Maybe something there is too low or too high?
Is Bridge set to Auto or On? Try changing it to the other, whichever one it is :) Failing that, turn it off, load the model, then turn it On and tell it to synch from Modeler (get it to finish loading then move it over the bridge, rather than try to do both things at once).
What does the inspect tool show in Model side? What happens if Model side you inspect material, create a cube, and paint it with that material, does it show properly in the workspace side?
HTH!

Ok, I restarted TS and everything is well and beautiful in my universe again... that was very bizarre. I know I am kinda rusty, but I just could not imagine that the system could be that tough :)
Ok, this is what I think is happening. The multiple plane object form PSCS3E maybe the mroot of the problem. I just tried to reload the same object and it came into TS model fine, but lost it's textures going to WS again... seems they do not like to reapply over there...
Any ideas? I'll try different file formats and different configurations of geometry and see what happens.

I didn't specify vRay materials, that's just how they came in. I have Lightworks specified as my render engine. I used the eyedropper on the WS side to see how it had applied the materials. That's where it indicated the vray materials. |

Thanks Heidi and Tom
I think it is something todo with the PSCS3 object. On a fresh boot of TS I was able to create a plane primitive on Model side and a cube on Model side apply one of the textures in question and they transfered to WS with no problems... It sounds like a conflict in PS and 3DS into Model than over to WS :) boy this will be fun trouble shooting :D
Thanks for the help, I thought I was going crazy...

As my memory on this slowly comes back to me, I used to extract the textures and place them on primitives I whipped up in TC Model side. I think it was concluded single sided planes were a no-no in Bridge...
Slowly the cobwebs are clearing and everything is starting to make sense again.
Thanks for your patience :D
