Thats a fun anim Aidan!

Ref the ground and steps penetration, Once the IK solver is sorted none of that would happen, neither would all the wobbling and stretching thats going on. Unfortunately using IK which was what I wanted to test, everytime the rig exploded, or there was a knee mis-alignment or giant wobble I would reset a kframe, but then it would solve incorrectly and mess up the solve from a frame or so before. Became a case of fix one and go fix another that had previously been ok, but then another would go awol. A perpetual circle of correcting and recorrecting. In the end I had to let the penatrations go, as 1 they were 100% caused by the solver, and 2 fixing would then over-ride the other keyframe solves and mess them up instead. I also ended up using about 75 extra keyframes just to try and over ride the goings on.

On a positive note though, without that issue, the anim would have only taken a couple of minutes to create, foot rolls, waist rolls, squats, knee pointing and ball rolls, the full thing really.

All the foot through ground and steps issues were solver related, and in the end I realised I could get no further for now (using IK). I understand that Wizard is using FK sucessfully, so for now maybe thats the route to follow just temporarily.

With regard to path animation and ground plane solving, got to agree both would be nice, and very useful tools that would be used on a daily basis for sure!

Have spent a fair bit of today looking for free video streaming sites, and all the associated tech stuff. At the minute "revver" seems to have a nice high picture quality, 100mg per file limit and no max to number of files. Also supports easy embedding plus making selected vids available by invite only, which is a useful feature for future tuts. IE A better way to partially limit the tuts to forum members only or whatever. Also a useful way to collaborate on vids in progress that aren't ready for public consumption at this point.

Ok I am outta here

Cheers
