Hello!

First of all what does HDRI mean (I know)? http://www.andras2.extra.hu/hdri glass probleme.jpg

I switched off the background (in vray settings on workspace) but there is a part behind the glass panel.

And my other proble is with the glass shader. Where is the HDRI reflection on glass panel? I use "Pure Glass" Vray material from Vray materials library.

I was trying a lot but I didnt manage to set the perfect settings: I want to see such as ...

HDRI is High Dynamic Range Imaging. They are images that capture a higher range of light to dark than regular images (requires taking more photographs at different exposures to make them). This allows the image to have details in the light areas and in the dark areas.

When used to render, the HDRI image then shows up in reflections and refraction. It is also used to calculate light coming into the scene, the image "wrapping around" the scene to cast light into it and give very realistic lighting (different colors from different directions with soft shadows etc).

Looks like the HDRI is correctly visible through your glass, it shows up there even if show background is off I believe (show background makes the HDRI show up if there is no object reflecting or transmitting a ray to impact the HDRI image - if a ray does that, it always shows the HDRI image).

No reflection is likely due to the glass, HDRI or raytracing settings, would need to see the scene to say for sure.

The glass in your Kerky render doesnt seem to be doing anything particularly exciting or unusual, certainly nothing that can't be done in V-Ray or Lightworks. Note that you are comparing a simple scene where glass doesn't have things to reflect and refract with a complex scene, making the results of the glass somewhat incomparable :) What happens if you render that house with V-Ray? That would be a good comparison, comparing like with like.

HTH!

I agree with Tom, check your reflection settings. Also looks like you have your samples value set too low for the HDRI and it could be possible that you have the wrong format type selected in the drop down menu.

You can learn more about the different HDRI types here:

Here's another site with some more HDRIs:

If you're using a plain image for the background, you probably want to set the format to "Panoramic".
