By "trim" I assume you are talking about the tread of the tire like this?

(Great job on the truck by the way)

Did you eyeball or did you have an image or rotoscope to help with the dimensions?

Cool! I love trucks! I've even owned a couple at one time. So many folk get excited over a sleek sports car but as far as I'm concerned trucks are WAAAY sexier!!

I like your model (I've not yet seen the movie version though - been busy watching season one and two of Battlestar Galactica). Your truck has a good solid and functional feel to it - good work Prodigy - looking forward to seeing it set in a scene.

Moloko,

First you need to get the profile of the tire to lathe. Made in Illustrator (and the Illustrator file:

Next,

Lathe the shape in TS, and set up your boolean shapes to subtract from the outside of the tire. Here I used a shape to cut the outside and then put alternating "v" shapes in the tread. Make sure to have everything centered at world center. Especially the cut out shapes. That'll make it easy when you rotate around the tire:

Then copy and rotate keeping your grid lock turned on (I think I set this at 6 degrees?) to make multiple copies around the tire.

Then boolean subtract all of the cut outs:

The last step is to put the text on the tire which you take a shape and boolean intersect it with the tire making sure to "keep drill" is on to add the text around the tire:
