Hi all,
Only a few more days left to get your images, animations and Virtual Earth entries into the Gallery for August! With the three categories, that gives you even more chances to win, as now we can have up to three winners and three runners-up each month.
The Virtual Earth category is the newest, so is the one where you could make the most "splash" most likely. The important thing is that you "have to be in it to win it" as they say (this is for all 3 categories) - if you don't submit anything, you have no chance to win, but if you do submit something then you never know, you could find yourself with a nice prize as a return on your time spent making the image, animation or VE object.
Closing date is in 2 days, you can submit entries right up until midnight August 31st, so it isn't long left. I'm hoping we can make this first month of the new gallery with the new prizes and new category into one of the best ever!
As a "for instance" on checking the entries, I don't see many of the castles from the MMC submitted as entries at all. I've also seem times when great images from here, either WIP or finished or experimental, don't show up as gallery entries. I'd say in cases like these contests it's best to approach them like the first stage of brainstorming - don't try to filter your entries, pre-judging them whether you think they are "good enough" to make it onto the gallery pages, leave all that to the judges and just submit your entry anyway :)
Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom
Not entered one of these before, so I don't know the drill.
I have a flash animation I'd like to enter to show something of what I have been doing. It won't win any prizes (I hope), but I think it showcases a little glimpse of the future potential of Truespace Character animation!
Anyway is it just a matter of posting the zip file (6.6meg) in the gallery thread, or is there more to it than that?
Cheers
IK
Edit Have decided to postpone until next month, to give me some more time to make something other than a rig test. Posted in Roundtable "At rigging last" thread. |

We'll look forward to seeing the entry next month! The forums don't hold the entries for this contest (only for the user-run contests). To enter, you log in here:
http://gallery.caligari.com/gallery/login_form.asp
(you need to create a new gallery sign up if you've never entered before), and then you can upload, delete, etc your submissions once logged in.
For judging, it's always "judges" when talking about it, but how many and who may vary. The word is used in a generic, non-specific sense :)
HTH!
