I saw Eagles bike thread and the pet thread so I thought why not
post some pictures from Saturday on 4 wheels !
This is from the biggest sports car meeting in Europe from on top
of the biggest dam in Europe a cometogether I attended last weekend.
This is the Kölbreinsperre in the Maltavalley in Austria......
http://www.tauerntouristik.at/de/malta/energie-aus-wasserkraft/index.php
Over 50000 horsepower of 4 wheels was on top of that dam.
Took us over an hour to park them all there.
Ferraris and Lambos and Koeniggseggs and Porsches....:D
Almost like a Spencer Tunick installment LOL:D
The rest of the pictures are from the corso in the lakedistrict at Velden.....
If you have any pictures of your car or anything related and fun
just post it here ! |

not quite as flashy but this is my relatively new car that someone drove into the back of 6 weeks after I got it :(
3k of damage - eek. least I never had to pay.
The photo was taken in Lettermore, a small island in the west of Galway. |

Nice little car Brotherx !
Glad you are back running it !
The flashy cars were just an intro....
I wanted to show the pictures on the kölbrein dam.
I thought it would be interesting to see what cars you all drive
just regardless of size or make or whatever.
So keep them coming or any cool story to them.
Also post to Eagles thread on bikes if you have any.....:)

I tell you something, the state fuel prices are, buying it was a smart move. it costs about 40 euro to fill up and it does me a month...I get about 400 mpg, 300 city driving. Not the best car but it has a CD player and gets me to work and back...and it's low mileage too (not hit 7000 yet) |

While I appreciate some off topic threads that contribute to the family atmosphere -a style that makes the charm of our trueSpace community-, I sometimes feel that we are going too far from the purpose of this forum : share informations about 3D art and trueSpace.
I mean, I can understand a topic for posting pictures of our computer room, or even Windows desktop (that's our trueSpace environment after all), and I like to see the pets, cars or motorbikes of you fellow trueSpace users, but posting too much content like that may disorientate the new trueSpace users coming on our forum.
If we don't put a limit, the forum may at the end host more pictures of the weather at the window, our vacations or our last week-end party... than 3D artwork !
Perhaps one should create an other forum, out of Caligari servers, for all of our OT topics. Otherwise, we may see one day posts like that one :D : |

The purpose of making those collected threads is to keep the
forum from clutter with hundreds of threads based on 1 topic.
If we keep bike in one and room in one and car in one and pet in one then
we avoid that.;)Thats what I think.

My understanding of the roundtable was that it was for anything, just for a laugh... |

Extrapolating a small event to its ultimate possibility, assuming that the alleged change is bad, calling for action by authority to stop the disaster, and assuming that such authority is the only, or even a desirable, way to avert the disaster is a formula for disaster. Makes me think of Al Gore.
The focus of this forum is indeed trueSpace. There has been an increase in "friendly" posts recently. This is a good thing and is a natural event that will regulate itself. There are more friendly posts because learning and adjusting to TS 7.x has temporarily reduced the productivity of users and the old-timers are getting to know each other and want to communicate in this way. The percentage of strictly TS posts will increase as TS 7.x skill increases.
The friendly posts do not interfere with TS related posts since they are appearing in the Roundtable which is an appropriate place for them. |

Over 200,000 miles. The odometer stopped working just before 180,000. This is 9100 feet altitude from yesterday's wildlife photography adventure. Saw a cow, two deer, no turkeys and no elk. |

Its very nice to see so different typs of cars and I think
it tells a lot about a persons life what she or he drives.
People who have family or live in the woods or in the city.....
I think we get to know each other better that way.
95 % of the whole site isdevoted to 3d anyways.

A previous forum I was on had a 'chit chat' section specifically created for the off-topic subjects; it would be interesting to get Norm's view but I assumed the roundtable area was more for general issues relating to truespace and 3d that couldn't easily be categorised into the main forum areas such as WIP, tech queries etc, rather than totally open to any old thing.
I don't really mind either way, although I would prefer not to see the roundtable area get too clogged up with 'trivial' subjects - it's nice to be friendly, but past experience has shown me that this kind of thing does have a bit of a habit of spiralling, particularly as the community grows and it can become quite 'invasive'. It might be better to have a forum area dedicated to 'off-topic' or 'chit-chat' - but, as noted, why should Caligari have to host that...
On topic - I don't have a picture to hand, but I have a very unexciting Citroen Berlingo (not the current model, but the version that was around in 2001-2002...). Not very glamourous or fast or comfy, but pretty practical....
Brotherx - did you really mean 300 and 400 mpg - that's amazing when most cars do between 20-40...? Is it a hybrid engine? |

oops. no, I get around 50mph, 40mpg in the city. For a small car it holds a lot of fuel...around 8 gallons (UK) but usually 1 tank does me a month. not this month as we went for a little adventure and drove about 200 miles yesterday, used about 1/2 tank - would have used a lot more on my old bucket...
So, it should have been miles per tank, not gallon. :D 400mpg I wish. |
