Hi all,
Lightworks run a quarterly contest for renders made using Lightworks. You could make something specifically for the contest, or perhaps you have something made for an SMC, MMC, or Caligari monthly contest, so could just enter it into one more contest since it is already complete :)
For past winners, info, etc, visit here:
http://www.lightworkdesign.com/image_competition/competition.html
The next round closes at the end of September, but Lighworks informed me that as it "is a rolling competition, entries will be included in the relevant competition whenever they are received" so don't panic if you can't make it in on time.
Remember, no real-time renders or V-Ray renders here, this one is specifically about the render engine you use.
It would be great to see some tS made entries show up on those winner pages!
HTH!

Cool! Thanks Tom, that's handy to know.
Took a look through their last two galleries - lots of ArchViz and ProductVis stuff but nothing that couldn't be down with tS.:D |

What do you think Thomas ... is it possible to use the T.J.Viking Gi solution for
Lightworks ? This is actually only a shader ....
http://www.digivision.com.tw/truespace/tutorial/Contribute/Doc79/index.htm
but its a Gi solution for lightworks.
I´d love to give that a try !;)
Thanks for the heads up Tom !

Lightworks asked me for images for their product gallery a few years ago...we conversed for quite a few weeks and they picked the images even giving me the date they would go online...
....I don't think the gallery has been updated since they told me that... |

I would think so - the competition rules specify you must tell them about other programs you use - like photoshop - and they say they might ask for the scene file for verification purposes. But TJ's GI shader still utilises the LightWorks renderer which is what they are interested in. |

Yes it's just a shader, so is calling on the Lightworks render engine to "do the processing", so would be no reason why you can't use it. You're still using the Lightworks render engine as the core on which everything is built upon, so all is good. Any shaders in tS that run for Lightworks will be fine to use (so ShaderLab, ShaderMagic, etc). Alternative engines though are out (V-Ray, Dribble, Kerythea, etc)

Yes, this shader is great. Fast GI is pretty fast too, although not vray fast. Lightworks is really good if you know what you're doing.
Here are some more examples of fast gi:

For 100% you can use my plugin as standard Lightworks rendering engine shader. It does nothing more than gathering additional raytraced (raytraced by Lightworks engine) rays and adding this component to the diffuse contribution of surface. |
