Shade has a modeler called magical sketch which looks very similar to this, but is a bit more basic than Shape Shop by the looks of it.

Its a fun toy but the vertices all kind of line up in a 3d grid which doesn't always bone or subdivide well. The best reults form-wise tend to be highly dense but you can use tS to do some heavy mesh reduction and normal map creation.


It may still have some uses for you and hey if its free - go for it!

Yes shape shop isnt all that new and pretty nice for organic sketching but

nothing beats the simplicity and precision of Moi 3d for technical oriented

models. Funny we were introduced to both by Mark and now he´s not here

any more ! I guess I have to mail him !

ShapeShop is a program worth keeping an eye on though. The guy seems pretty keen on developing it - and it does what it does well. It may well have its uses.
