I'm using the Virtual Dub for legends and the logo, the wax 2.0 for the transitions and effects and the trakAxPC for the sound, but I'm not happy! I don't like the moviemaker that cames with windows... I want to know if there is a free option for the adobe premiere that mix all functions together and dont costs three tousand dollars:D Anybody? |

Curious but true, Blender has one onboard :)
But don't ask me if it is good. I have given up the battle with the only software without human interface ...
Then there is the free Avid version. A professional Videocut software. But the developer has canceled the support for the free version. So you may search somewhere else for the download. |

the avid tool is nothing like their other products...in fact, it really sucks. You can only open files from a dv-cam and then save back out. Of course, this may have changed.
You can pick up a copy of pinnacle studio for about £40 I think, and it's ok....
I actually have Liquid 6...pretty hardcore but worth the money. |

You can always use the Adobe Premier free 30 day trial which is fully functional for 30 days, of course after the 30 days you are stuck. I use virtualdub now and then but I know it is not the most feature bulging application around. |

Does it have to be free? There is sony vegas platinum which is like 120 bucks I think which will do everything you want and more. |

I have to admit I have yet to try Blender for video editing but it sounds like a project I will take on later.
If you want no cost software I think the stuff mentioned is about the extent of what is free. The only one I have not seen here yet is Jahshaka. This product is a project resurrected as open source I believe and looks interesting. I have not looked at it for several months so read carefully before d/l.
For a couple of hundred dollars you can get other integrated type packages as mentioned here.
I personally just acquired Pinnacle Studio Pro. I have not used it yet as my current project is too early for editing stage but it looks promising.
Hope this helps. |
