Wasn't too sure where to stick this, maybe interesting for some folks.
I always wanted to combine the skeleton in DAZ Studio for the figures except tS could not import the saved skeleton from DAZ. Well found a way to do just that :jumpy:.
I can now save a DAZ Studio skeleton using bvh. Import the bvh skeleton into FragMotion and then export as bvh. This will save into format that Workspace can use with all created animations done in DAZ Studio intack.
Combine bvh to orginal Mesh saved as a object file from DAZ Studio and recombine the two in tS. I know sounds rather complicated but the vast extraordinary content that DAZ has is much more useful now in tS.
Did short test animation of this, rendered to file using Workspace and then used Modeler to compile the created images from the animation.
Now if I really come up something jaw dropping, or sorta ;) I will post any new findings. |

Yes, just downloaded it like 4 hours ago. It seems real easy to use and I am thinking of actually buying it vice using the trial. Is it useful MrBones? |

Yes It is, Very useful,
Many people use FragMotion and Milkshape, More probably use milkshape 3d but FragMosofts FragMotion makes real good software. and Quality support.
I cant believe they only have 190+ members in their forum.
Cheers

Also remember that TrueBones work on Daz figures too.
Cheers

Does FragMotion resize TrueBone animations across the whole animation? That would be very useful. |

Thats a good question,
I dont think it does....(have a shape skeleton tool)
I know BVHacker does that quite well.
Thats one thing TrueSpace does not have yet either.
I wonder if Daz does?

Daz has a Shape context but it is also based on keyframes and doesn't go across all keyframes, at least what I can find. Interesting is you can load a Truebone bvh and DAZ will attach it to Victoria (you have to have a figure or mesh in order to import a bvh file). DAZ Studio will automatically attached skeleton to Mesh and does it well. Only problem is Victoria leans back but all motions are there. You might want to check that out. |

Hi Noko, Awesome that you have had success with daz studio fragmotion and Truespace 7.6. Poser works perfectly for me exporting bvh's to Truespace 7.6. However, Poser is costly for many people. Iam so glad that you have found a workflow with the free daz studio. Cant beat free! I have been trying to get time to look in to it. :jumpy:

Yes, thanks jhowell. Never really tried Poser and with DAZ Studio being free I just kinda experimented and then experimented and then became a Platium member and bought, bought and bought :). Being able to combine some of the great content there to tS 7.6 is fun and maybe useful for video type projects with a short deadline. |
