Hi.

I have a problem with the sound in the Intro Illustration product course. In several of the files the sound disappear after a while - but not in others.

I find this quite strange. I have tried to use both Firefox and IE to view the chapters where the sound disappears but that don't help.

The Flash version I have installed is version 9.

Does anyone have any suggestion on how to fix this?

Best regards

I would also like to add that the sound and video sometimes unsync. On several parts the audio goes to fast and leave the video behind.

Yeah and when you pause when there is no sound you can't continue either. I noticed this as well. I just ended up working without sound, the courses do come with transcripts of the audio file so you can read that if you really want to know what he's doing. Otherwise you don't really need sound as all that is really happening is he is describing what he is doing, and possibly poking some fun in there.

Would it be possibly for Caligari to transform these Flash videos to AVI or other file format simply viewed inside a normal media player?

Not without remaking the course.

Apologies to all for the inconvenience here.

There was an unfortunate period of using Flash for the courses. It gave smaller file sizes for a period of time compared to the other codecs, but soon showed itself to be unstable and not consistent in how it ran on different machines. At the same time, the other codecs caught up and offered better file sizes than the Flash, so we quit using it.

Most likely we have the original uncompressed AVIs around, but sadly time is something that is against us. With so much to do to move forward, it's not really feasible to invest time into re-encoding older courses, particularly since times and tools have changed, so it is unlikely that we'll see these older Flash ones re-encoded. We will keep it in mind though, and if the opportunity arises we'll tackle it!
