I've been messing around with HLSL lately and found some info on mimicking SSS in real-time. I was excited to make some progress, so I thought I'd show a video of what I have so far. Right now it only works on convex objects. I still have some work to do, but it's looking somewhat promising. I should be able to add a little red coloration in there to create a good real-time skin shader too. :)

This looks much better in real-time. The video compression kind of ruins it a bit. You can get the idea though. ;)

Great work Dele. I am still amazed by Parva's SSS shader he made some time ago and this looks to build on that good work.

Oh yeah, I forgot that Parva was making good progress on this. Well, his shader will probably be better than mine. He has more knowledge about this stuff than I do. Still, it will be fun to mess around. :)

There's some great work being done by the Caligari tinkerers lately, maybe Caligari should start a new competition?
