You should have received your stuff now Paul, sorry about the delay.

And I finally found out how to set up email aliases in Google Apps so support@coolpowers.com works again :)

Oh, and yes, even if I haven't been very visible, I'm very grateful for the bug reports. I need to find some time to prepare a full update.

I'm sure making this plug-in isn't easy, especially with 3delight having two major upgrades in the past year. I'm happy with it as is, especially considering how cheap it was. It adds a few features to truesapce that it sorely needs like micropoly displacement.

However it will be great to have those niggly bugs fixed.:)

Hiya.

So, any update to the "glass shader = crash" problem? What about using Darktree's?

I've never had a crash using a glass shader, although caustics don't seem to work, where did you read this?

And I don't think darktrees will ever be supported as Dribble uses renderman shaders. There's probably a few bucks to be made from dribble users making those.....well me anyway.:D

Which glass shader is doing it? Because I haven't seen that behaviour myself.

And yes, Darktree materials are still coming. They won't render exactly the same as in trueSpace but it should still be worth it.

There are plans for Darktree materials to be supported in Dribble? Wow, I didn't realize that. That'll be great! :)

@Plum - I'm not sure whether you jinxed me, but I'm getting crashes when I use the glass shader as well. I'm not sure if this has been happening since I got 3DL8, but it definitely wasn't happening in 7.

mine is crashing when i use the normal glass shader (the first one on the list). Was a solution or reason found for this?

How're the fixes coming Simon?

Another thing I noticed was that when I rendered a regular plane with a light shining on it I got shadow artifacts. As well as the GI issues.

Just an FYI, using my PC has been a miserable affair due to a dying system drive. It's about all I can do to browse the web. So if response time is even slower than usual, that'd be why :)

I owe you guys an update, I'm working on it :)

Thanks for the news Simon! Hope you get everything backed up before it goes. :(

Yeah, it's my system drive so not much to back up. I no longer store email locally, and all my project data is on other drives. The only hassle is installing the OS and apps again. Well, that and having to pay for a new drive :P

Yeah I've got mine set up similarly.

Hopefully it's not Vista. That's a pain to move to a new drive. Regardless, if you have Acronis TrueImage that does a good job transferring partitions even if the drives are different sizes and it works on Vista.

I'm glad your still in the game Simon, I think we were all a little worried that you had dropped out.

Are you still planning on supporting the workSpace side in the future?

Also I think you talked about being able to use Darktree Shaders...is that still planned and which side of trueSpace (Model or workSpace) if so?

If you're still accepting feature requests I would also like to make a few:

-Separate AO pass in psd, or even GI if possible

-Caustics

-Depth map output

-option of rendering AA higher than 4x

Thanks.:)

Ok I cannot get this to work in 6.6 or 7.6

I followed the instructions to the letter and got fur to render in TS 6.6 so I thought it was fixed. Decided to try a render with a HDRI image in 7.6 and with fur and it rendered white like others have posted. Also tried many other render test and cant get anything to render correctly in ether version of TS. I have downloaded and installed the updated shaders. Reinstalled dribble to no avail. Also took it a step further and uninstalled all TS, dribble, and 3delight software and then Installed TS 7.6, dribble and its required components restarting after each new change in software. Still no change. So now I have reinstalled both 6.6 and 7.6 and back up to speed with all my libraries back in place I just cant get dribble to work. :(

Any suggestions?

Here is my system hardware, drivers and settings.

I though the fur was fixed.
As for the HDRI no surprise, the GI hasn't quite been working right since the new 3Delight.:(
It might be the GI which is messing with your fur.
Try a separate fur render with a basic light setup.

I did with TS7.6 and I am getting a black background no watermark and it will render fur but without color if I use a texture image. It will render black with one basic color using the color editor.

TS 6.6 is the same result.

I remember encountering this, can't quite remember how I fixed it.

One thing that worked for something else and might work here, while tS is running copy the 3Delight tS shaders into the folder and replace the ones there.

I know it shouldn't actually do anything because it's the same stuff, but it seemed to do something with me for the GI aspect. Might work for this as well.

Here are my settings and an area render, just using the default workspace light setup in tS 7.6 on the model side with just this sphere and the fur.

Yeah, I don't know either, it's the strangest thing.

Be aware though, you may have to do that every time you restart.

Hopefully not, but if it doesn't work you know what to do.;)

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could use a grayscale image to drive the thickness and length of hair. Would be an awesome tool.
