You really need to get used to threads going off topic Tamtam...it happens a lot...;)

However, you keep apologizing for your 'young age' but then you go off like an adult telling off a child...not the best way to get support for your requests.

We are having a bit of fun...no harm. This is an open forum and anyone can post anything they like as long as it is clean and not offensive.

You were already recommended to move these to a different (more appropriate) thread, which you did, so why on earth are you getting so stroppy about comments in this thread.

Move on....and lighten up...

@splinters - 1. Okay, i'll try. :)
2. I thought there are rules about the threads though, about staying on topic.:o
3. All I wanted was some simple opinions about the tools being moved to the workspace. I'm not sure if I got anything relating to my topic, or maybe I just got a few that related (but I know I can be very forgetful). :(

Okay, there are tools on the model side that IMO should have been moved to the workspace when Caligari was making ts 7.5. It's too late for the tools to be moved to the workspace of ts 7.6, because it's been out for a while now.

The following is my 'wish list' for future versions of ts, but I think these should have already been in the workspace:

1. Nurbs curves and all Nurbs tools (to allow free-form shapes that could be converted to polygons)
2. the plugin button, along with the FA and all other ts plugins (almost automatic facial animation! Although I would like the FA to be a little better at facial animations for custom heads)
3. Path tools
4. the 'original' model side ME, and the ME library (so new users and me have an easier time with making materials, and putting them in custom libraries)

Anyone else have tools they wish were also on the workspace side?
1. You must start learn to use many software together on same project. Ask and wait for some tools move from model side to workspace side can make you frustration. And cry or waiting all model side tool to move to workspace side tool can make you mad/stress. :D There're many uptodate tools still need to add also. :D
If you want modeling with NURBS curve, I suggest to try MOI3D (http://moi3d.com/). With MOI3D (http://moi3d.com/) NURBS modeling become very exciting. :) Later you can export you NURBS model via 'OBJ' file format for give it some materials and for rendering.

2. we have PM on workspace view. ;)
3. Yes we need simple path for animation rail. :)
4. Model side ME create for LW. RT and VRay need different ME. I think other coming render engine on workspace side also must create its own ME specialis for its render engine. Try to dig material info from one ME for many Render Engine its not a good idea. :D

You see Tam-tam, I'm back to the main topic now. ;) Now we just wait who's first start to post off topic material after this post. :D

PS: if you want to animate you NURBS obj in your game, I think MOI3D may not suitable for you.

I repeat:

I know i'm quoting myself, which seems silly, but I felt it was necessary. This topic is not supposed to be about beer and coffee. I know people here are trying to have a little fun, but this is more than just a little fun that you and possibly me too, are having. This topic of mine was meant to be about the tools you and I wanted moved over to the workspace when ts 7.5 was being made.

Edit: This whole post here is geared towards everyone who was off topic on my subject (including myself, for some parts).

Tam-tam, I think you need a cup of coffee for keep you fresh. ;)

Sorry Tam-tam, I can't resist. Because I need some fun too. :D

I can only say Johny is right and thats what I did to get my frustration away !

Moi3d is a very easy to use software and very powerfull and complements

Truespace very well. It just does things that you cant find in Truespace.

Is made by the same person who made Rhino.

Is fairly new and will let you learn pretty fast and easily.

In a way trueSpace is a "Mutt". It is a compilation of many 3D graphics packages but never focusing strength in one area. With so many features it takes a long time to update all it's tools and get back in the ring with the competition. With Microsofty backing it allows trueSpace time to explore alternative ways of doing things. (That has always been Caligari's methods, Pioneering. Sometimes this is good sometimes this is bad)
Having a Pioneering attitude slows down the process of getting the "basic" tools we need or want. So listing tools we "need" may not match the mindset of the Caligari Wizards. This is the reason why I am not surprised seeing "Hair" before "Lathe" tools. History speaks for itself so I wouldn't be suprised NOT to see Nurbs in the next release but instead a "Swamp Thing Designer" tool set instead. TrueSpace lost it's identity years ago and I think their working to get that back.
Oh yea I also want a Beer Tool.

I don't know about you, but I'm really hoping for a "Electric Coffee Cup Warming Coaster" plugin for the morning and a "Reverse Polarity" toggle module in the LE to convert it to a beer cooler for the evenings.
(UK users won't need this toggle because they already enjoy warm beer.)

A Cheeto dispenser wouldn't hurt, either, but now I'm talking crazy talk.

Does anyone know what this "Swamp Thing Plugin" can do? I never heard of this, so how did some others here find out?

There is no swamp thing designer plugin, it was just a joke :) The idea is that rather than just recreate existing tools that have been around for many many years, tS has lately been introducing entirely new tools, so perhaps rather than see NURBS, maybe we'll see something new for doing curves and organic objects.

And that was conjecture, not founded on a Caligari announcement, as he stated "History says" - so he was speculating based on recent history.

HTH!

Oh Sure Tom.. Uh Huh. And UFOs Don't Exist either... Riiight? :D

Let's see... Nurbs and paths, and layers, yes, these would all be good on the Workspace side, or something similar.

We'll see what happens.

Sorry about the "Swamp Thing Designer" tool set discussion Tamtam, I was kidding about that. However you cracked me up when you looked for it!
Like the Joker please don't take me "Serious"
I'm trying to keep this place fun and educational. No one should have to suffer learning this stuff.

psssst If you click 14 icons over from the widget creator you'll find a "secret" tool named "Unsichtbar Werkzeuge Set";)

I just can't tell when people are serious, and when they're having fun. It may be just that when text is written on something, I cannot tell what others mean to say, or what they are feeling when posting the text, even with smileys. I have an easier time when someone is talking to me face to face, or in other words, I can tell what people mean by the tone of their voice when they are talking. That's why I get serious and confused when people post something that I don't understand.

tamtam. Your original post in this thread, your #4, original model side. This is completely doable.

Go to HW settings, and change your render preferences to DX 7 basic. Everything will go off, including colors.
