Hi folks.
A group of truespace users donated models last year for a Halloween house.
It should still be at this portal in shared space:
1121
I have not had a chance to check it out lately; but give it a whirl.
Turn out the lights, Crank up your speakers and have a walk around the place.
How to connect:
1. Click the Shared Space icon in truespace
(the two eyeballs) in the lower right hand corner.
2. Type this in the top text edit window of the
Shared Space dialog window that opened
(you need the two forward slashes - thanks trueblue! )
*** CORRECTED LINK... THANKS ROBERT PLANTE! ***
//tpportal.caligari.com/1121
Now, login.
Enjoy! |

Sorry about that finder... Robert got in.
Robert, did you have to do anything special to get in?
Thanks for noting that about the teleporter. Dang. That was a great part of the scene. I believe that functionality has been removed, or changed since version 7.51. I think there is an Avatar script interface in 7.6. You may be able to edit that teleporter's script:
Replace the RsTool.ActivateFpn() with:
Avatar.ActivateFpn();
The idea behind the teleporter was, you'd be teleported right in front of the skeleton, and you would hear this dark, deep laughter. It was intended as a 'scare' feature of the house. Dang. |

I just logged in and put the address, //tpportal.caligari.com/1121, in the box at the top of the chat thing and pressed GO. Nothing special.
Fixed the teleporter (that's not a word?:confused:) script and now it works like it should. Did you grab it from the elements of game design thing? |

tpportal? Maybe that's why finder couldn't get in. I thought everything had been moved to tsportal. I can't test it til late tonight Robert. Did you also try tsportal? Does that one work? My original instructions specify using tsportal, not tpportal. Maybe I need to fix that.
The teleporter, I learned about, from Dele during a Collaboration effort last year. He was experimenting with triggers; the teleporter was one of the triggers he made. Very Cool!
Thank You for fixing that script, too Robert!
HINT: If you download the scene to your local PC, and run it from there, you will notice / should notice that the lights dim in the main hall, when you step on a trigger in there, at the same time you hear that electric effect. The trigger under the floor is supposed to play the electric effect, and dim and brighten the lights, according to a timer. But the timer did not work very well in shared space, so it may have been disabled. So you should be able to enable that timer and see the effect. It's really cool! Shame it didn't work in shared space though.
Last year when we presented this it was a big hit. It's just an example of what can be done in shared space.
Enjoy!

cool!
You have to turn on FPN (First Person Navigation) by clicking the FPN icon. It looks like a blue torso, and a white arrow; just to the left of the Physics start/stop button in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
