When I try to go to www.caligari.com I seem to end up at a different site than the caligari home page. It doesn't look as though I'm being redirected... the URL still reads caligari.com. Today the page says "welcome to the world GTM". I've been running virus scanners and this hasn't changed.

Anyone else see this?

You aren't going to www.caligari.com, but to caligari.com (no www). That is not our domain and so not our page. Be sure to visit only www.caligari.com :)

Should be no difference.

caligari.com or www.caligari.com both lead me here...

I'd run a check for malware mate... you may have something redirecting your browser

Nope, there is a difference - DNS can redirect caligari.com differently from www.caligari.com, the DN Resolution doesnt have to point to the same place. We've modified the DNS records to redirect "no www" to us again, but there's always the chance that will be slower, not updated ,and more likely to go astray :)

I suggest using always the genuine real thing, www.caligari.com - accept no substitutes!

Thanks!

Tom

Tom if I roll my mouse over your link or Khai's link the displayed web address showing in the bottom left of my browser (Firefox) reads identically. If I click on them however they don't go to the same place. Confusing isn't it.

Just testing them again I now ONLY get sent to a blank black page with the heading in the info bar saying "Edge Computing Network". Are you guys you sure don't have squatters?

A further note: None of the links in the Caligari header at the top of these forum pages are going anywhere. I just get page not found error messages. The link to the Caligari home page takes me back to the previously mentioned black page. I've tried clearing my history and cache and its still happening. It looks like you have been hijacked to me.

This is what I am experiencing even from official Caligari links.

http://caligari.com and http://www.caligari.com both send me to Caligari's website. MS IE and Firefox.

Logo link at top of forum and link at bottom of forum both work for me.

All links working here, both caligari.com, www.caligari.com, and all links at the top of the page. Anyone else seeing any issues with the links?

Thanks!

Tom

This is a work machine with Outpost Firewall Pro with the inbuilt spyware scanner. Should be an ok machine but I wouldn't guarantee it. I only had issues when I read this thread and clicked on the links! Might be a good idea to cull the non valid link or remove this thread.

sorry mate, that got the reply 'And?' when I read it. I'd still run a scan.

Scans of all kinds were up and running before you responded Khai but thanks for the suggestion anyway. Says its found a spyware signature but I'll let the scan complete.

My observation that I only had issues after looking at this thread is valid. Its based on the fact that I already looked at the Caligari site earlier today without a problem.

Edit: Also, when I first clicked on a link in this thread it took me to the correct place - its only subsequent clicks that have gone elsewhere.

I couldn't access the forum until I cleared my DNS cache.
Kept timing out.

I also viewed this thread/ those links previously.
I could reach the front page but not the forum.

So if anybody else using XP can't see this, try Start/Settings/Network and repair your connection.

Err... if they can't read your post spacekdet how are they supposed to know what to do (i.e. what you wrote)? :D

Or maybe I misunderstood... :)

Most odd, not sure why it would be - could be the presence of the caligari.com, or perhaps visiting the link and getting it in history, that might have caused the issue.

Yep, odd all right.
Clearing the browser cache/ history didn't make any difference.
Both IE and FF couldn't access the califorum until I flushed the network DNS cache.

It's all good now, but how about killing/ de-linking those previous links to avoid any more folks falling into the same trap?

Here is a screen capture of what was showing in my DNS cache.

Here with Vista32 I opened the Command Prompt and typed:
ipconfig /displaydns to display what was cached.

Then typed:
ipconfig /flushdns to clear the cache.

When you get a diff page than expected, chances are an isp's dns is not working correctly. Stuff happens. Not sure if this has resolved now or not but you can always set your dns to a different one that that used by your isp.
