Why is there no visual cue for when I select multiple objects.

When I select multiple objects, all that happens is the navigation widget moves. If I want to see what object is selected, I normally need to move the object first. Moving the object involves extra clicks that shouldn't necessary.

I find that navigation is the most obtuse aspect Truespace for me, coming across from Sketchup.

I want highlighting of some kind to show what I've selected and what I haven't. Preferably a bold border around the outside edges of the object, which I can set for myself that contrasts with other colors in the scene.

Thanks.

You will find Wire Highlighting options in the Stack/Desktop, you can also change your perferred color by changing the Default aspect to Colors in the top right corner of the Desktop panel.

For a visual clue of where trueblue is talking about, see the following image:

Seems I always forget a minor detail in my forum posts. I apologize. For most intentions, I'm referring to the workspace. I am focusing on learning it, since I understand it is supposed to become the primary UI for truespace.

BTW: Adjusting those settings worked out. thanks.

trueblue's 'retro' widget brings the cage style widget back into Workspace.
It provides, among other things, an unmistakable visual indicator of which object is selected.
A virtual, highly functional, visually intuitive 'bold border'.

Hope the author puts the widget on TurboSquid, so a search for tS content can turn it up - since finding things on forums is not easy once the initial day or two of its posting comes and goes (and even if you have a repository section it's not as easy as searching via tags and descriptions etc). I do encourage everyone to use that, as if adopted as a central resource for tS content, widgets, scripts, code, tutorials, models, scenes, light setups, layouts, etc, then it would become a very powerful tool.

If no-one moves this excellent content onto there, then that powerful tool will languish unused, and a lot of tS users will never know about the existence of these very cool and very useful items (nor about their authors).

HTH!
