Here's where I've got to so far. Hull shape was the hardest part, and I'm not happy with it yet. Started on the detailing now, but it'll be a while.

Update.

Fascinating project, as I'm sure Wizard will agree. Learning all sorts of things as I go. This could take weeks.

Oooo Aarrr, avast there, me hearty! Looking good Chris! Looks like your vessel will have a similar build to mine. Interesting differences in our construction methods though from what I can see. Mine is all built from polygons with minimal SDS on the curviest bits of the hull. My hull is also built of about thirteen seperate pieces for ease of texturing as much as anything else.

As you say it's a fascinating project. I'd always wondered how they controlled the top sails on these things but after having modelled the rigging I think I can see how it all works so definately a big learning experience.

Hopefully you may find it won't take as long as you imagine because you will be able to do a lot of copy and paste from here on - you only need to make 1 or 2 cannons and then copy them, for example. I found building the ratlines was one of the most time consuming parts. Thank goodness for the Mirror Modeller!

Good luck with it.
