Thought I'd ask here to see if this happens to others. It has nothing to do with TS.

I normally use AccuTrans 3D (sometimes LithUnwrap if AccuTrans won't work) to convert a model out of cob to obj. I then will jump into blender to test that the model converted with textures.

I was sure the conversion in AccuTrans from Cob to OBJ had worked before but it is not now (while conversions to 3ds or such work fine). The model comes through fine but no texutres. I load the model into something like milkshape and the textures show up. The textures are 512x512 JPG/TGA files.

Does anyone else have trouble with this when they convert using AccuTrans?

LithUnwrap converts it over fine (but I find Lith crashes or won't convert very complicated models).

I am thinking I am missing something important about OBJ files.... Do they have a limit of some kind?

Thanks

Mike

I'm not familiar with Accutrans. I normally use the LUUV plugin to export to an obj rather than trying to convert from cob to obj after the fact. I make sure that the obj and mtl files are in the same folder as the texture files. That seems to do the trick for me.

I have encountered problems with some programs being really picky about jpg textures. For instance, I've had Vue reject jpgs created by Photoshop.

yes heidi is right use Luuv as much as you can its the best way to get useable obj. format out of Truespace.

I have got all sorts of screwd up results with obj. export from various

scources AND THATS MORE THE standard then the exception.

I dont have Accutrans because I never needed it so I cant say anything about that....

:(:o:rolleyes:

Thanks...

As soon as you said LUUV I realized that is what I used to do to get the initial OBJ file. Somethimes I think my mind is melting.

Thanks
