Must be going to the wrong place Keith - what method are you using to get in there? I'd use the web links on the birds of a feather page:

Note that if you have a tS beta installed, this will run in place of the regular tS, and you won't be able to connect. If that happens, use the following link in the URL box when inside tS, in the connection dialog box: tpportal.caligari.com/1111
Note that the default connection for tS goes to the Forum space, which is not our meeting space. You'll get there if you just fire up tS and hit connect, and you will be in an empty space. The forum space is the green grassy arena one. If you see that, you are in the wrong space :) You want the one with the "who wants to be a millionaire" lighting rig surrounding a circular stage area.
Also note that some spaces are on tsportal, but in this case tpportal is the one you want to use, so again be sure that is correct.

That's one of the galleries...the one that looks almost identical to the 'SMC' gallery, but isn't. The link labels it 'Gallery', and the chat window is titled July 2007 Gallery, I think.
If you find yourself there again and wish to join TNL:
There should be links to get out of there on the upper/outer balcony.
Look for a row of panels and click the one labeled 'Meeting Room'
That's the usual location for TNL.
The html link from the 'Birds of a Feather (http://www.caligari.com/birdsofafeather.asp)' page really should dump you into the correct 'Meeting Room'... not sure why you're ending up in that particular gallery instead. |

That is a gallery space. As you can see on this page:

that is "The Gallery" and not "Thursday Night Live". Also as you can spot from those links on that web page, TNL is at tpportal.caligari.com/1111 (as mentioned earlier) while the space you show is tpportal.caligari.com/1112. You can just drop those links directly into the URL space in the log in screen in trueSpace if you don't want to click on a link on the web page to fire up tS and join in. As noted in my earlier post, it is best to use the web page links to join, as it eliminates the chance of mistakes - plus the Birds of a Feather page has the Caligari Clock on it, so you know the time to join too, very handy stuff! http://www.caligari.com/BirdsOfAFeather.asp?SubCate=S2BOAF
It was a good meeting too, sorry you didn't make it in :( The speed modeling challenge to model a dog in 15 minutes was particularly fun :)

Wouldn't it make it all easier if the link was updated on the TNL page to take you directly there, Tom? We're always talking about needing people to show up and participate, but it obviously isn't that easy.....
I should only have to click once to get there. |

All links I am aware of go straight to the TNL space - Birds of a Feather, truePlaces, and the TNL page at http://www.caligari.com/thursdaynightlive.asp
All of them jump into the TNL space with a single click. Note that the TNL! page is not linked anywhere on site that Im aware of, the main link is the Birds of a Feather and truePlaces pages.
In my forum announcements every two weeks, I have almost always told people to go to the those pages and click on the links as the way to get in. I use the Birds of a Feather because of the clock on it, making it the most effective page to use as you know the time and avoid time zone issues, as well as the one click link on the page. And indeed here this week I also replied prior to the event with specific instructions for you again, even with the URL to use in trueSpace in case of issues with beta versions of tS and similar.
So not sure how it can be made more straightforward - I welcome more specific input on that, eg, what process are you following that leads you into the Gallery space rather than the TNL space?

Not sure what could cause the problem. I just tested the link on the TNL page and it took me to the correct place; Meeting Room. So it is actually a one click scenario Keith.

Visit Thursday night live using TrueSpace....that link takes me to the Gallery, everytime.
When hovering over the link before clicking it, it displays: tpportal.caligari.com/1111
I am using TS 7.6 that was downloaded for free; I currently have no Beta installed.
Not sure what else to do.

I recall that, recently, there was an issue with a website change.
Keith, are you going to:
caligari.com
or
www.caligari.com
caligari.com is the old website, www.caligari.com is the new one. Maybe that's the problem? |

I would try other spaces, see where they take you. Be sure when tS fires up NOT to click Login in the dialog - tS will log you in automatically. Its possible (not sure) that clicking login will override the login that tS was going to do, and log you in to the last space you were in or something. Basically once you click the link, sit back and let tS do the rest.
Definitely go through the truePlaces and see if they log you in properly:

Investigating, since this is an odd one. Let us know the tests from the other links!

PS - also please enter the link direct in the URL bar in the tS log in dialog, and log in that way and see where it takes you (dont click any web page links for that test). |
