It seems kind of silly to leave out auto-triangulation in the copy selection tool.

The flip edge tool already compensates for any automatic triangulation, as this happens automatically when one draws a polygon anyway.

I motion for the above feature to be added, or if it already exists, to be ported to the workspace

3.4.14 Swap Edge
Every model is triangulated automatically by trueSpace for display in the real-time and offline rendering engines. This tool shows the underlying triangulation, and lets you "flip" the direction of the triangulated edge on a particular face.

Thanks Trueblue. I think you mis-understood me

If you grab geometry on a face, and you drag it, without leaving that face, truespace will not create automatic triangulation.

What you are left with after copying and moving that geometry, is a floating geometric shape or shapes. If you go to drag that piece of geometry out, it just leaves the surface of the original face.

What would be cool, is a tool that would allow you to click any floating geometry, whether it be face(s), edge(s), or vertex(es)(those little point things?) And have it automatically draw the geometry to lock that floating geometry to the underlying face, or faces

Doesnt that just make it a sweep, or a regular move? If you grab the face and use dynamic sweep, it moves the face out and leaves it connected to the old. If you grab the face and just move it, then it has all the connections and it takes them along with it when you move it.

If you copy the face, you do want it detatched from everything else, as that would be the only thing that makes that operation different from these two options? May need some screengrabs here to understand what you are requesting :)

Thanks!
