Andras, I think the only way to make the conversion pack work in 76 is to manually copy the dlls etc to the ts76 "ts" directory or to keep the older version installed, do a conversion to .cob and copy file to ts76 environment. |

Well it looks like I've found a quasi solution. I installed ts76, backed it up (I always keep a zip of my workinig ts, because things sometimes just break). I copied the contents of my installed 'C:\trueSpace76' into the contents of my working 'C:\trueSpace75' that I backed up prior to ts76's install, overwriting all the old ts75 stuff. Renaming the folder back to C:\trueSpace76 appears to work. I can get my Conversion Pack features, namely w3d export for Director 11 working again. Don't know what kinda ill effects I'll have down the line, but as always I've got zips of my prior stuff.
You can give that a try. |

I'd recommend installing to a different, empty folder, "fooling" the installer with a file named like it was trueSpace (see the thread linked below by clintonman for the name to use for that file), and then copying those files into the tS7.6 directory.

I've tried that and the installation dialog tells me that the version of TS isn't in that directory or that the installation is corrupted.
Mine keeps looking for version 6.6, btw. |

Is that with the appropriately named folder, and appropriately named apparent tS6.6 exe (not sure what it was called)? Anyone with any advice on this one, since some folks have got it working?
Thanks!

Affirmative on both questions. I reinstalled 6.6 just to confirm. Conversion pak installed without a hitch to the 6.6 installation.
Correct folder and file names are the following. BTW, TS6.6 installation does not have a \tS folder.
trueSpace66 - folder name (default installs to C:\trueSpace66)
Ts6.exe - executable that it's looking for. |

In your case, with tS6.6 installed and Conversion Pack installed there, I'd go ahead and copy the files over (the ones listed in the other thread). Odd that it wouldn't install to the directory otherwise, I'm not aware of any registry checks that the installer does and the presence of folder and apparent tS6 exe should have done it.
Perhaps renaming the tS7.6 exe and installing to that folder might work then (I always try and avoid renaming installed files where I can though!).

Yep...that's what I did. :)
I also saved the listed files in a folder so I won't have to do this again. |
