Just so everyone knows in advance if this is the case.
I have looked at this software for over a year and just can't get into it. Is it aimed more for low poly objects?

On the contrary I and others would like Andrew to adjust it to better cater for low poly.

This app lives up to the hype. If the voxel painting works out, organic poly-modeling may soon be passe.

It's also good because it does everything well that ts does not so well - uvmapping, 3dpaint/ displacement and retopo.

Cool, I can't believe it's already coming out soon. Andrew is an amazing developer. He's VERY fast and smart, and the tools are solid. I wish Caligari could get him working with tS. :)

No, not at all. You can work with any resolution you want. It originally started as a 3d paint program to texture your models. The next version is going to have voxel sculpting though. I played with it a little in the beta, very cool. It almost feels like working with clay. I find sculpting like that much more intuitive than pushing polygons.

They also have retopo tools. So this program suites my favored style of modeling organics. Sculpt first, then retopo to make a nice clean mesh. Then you can even UV map and paint the object in 3d. You can also create displacement and normal maps and bake ambient occlusion. This is really turning into a powerful organic modeling program.

Check out some of the images and movies on the voxel sculpting. Very cool! :)

It is Voxel sculpting btw and I find that it works pretty well,I tried a few of the betas and I am impressed with tools such as the scraper amongst others.

Dele beat me to it.
