Guys, we just made live a 3D galery where you can upload your images on the walls, walk around them with your friends and discuss them by chat or 3D voice. Let us know if this may interests you. Upload your latest while there is still a space!:)

You need to fill the halls with placeholders. This way no one is taking the spot of another artist. At least for a while. How about adding some on the second story too. Can you get anything to hold art in the courtyard also?
This is going to be one of my favorite areas.
Great idea.

Hi Steinie , thanks for your comments you left on the frames the other day, I removed the offending frames.

Yes the space functionality is currently basic and needs some refinements which are being worked on, it will develop into a great space to visit.

A lock or timer could be placed on a frame so that the image is not replaced, once it is placed into a frame , and when optimisation is done , more frames can be added to the space as time progresses , the only limit here is the more images there then the size of the download will grow in proportion for first time visitors , so there may have to be a maximum size set for the entire scene download, this is also currently why there is a restriction on image kb size which needs to be followed in order to respect the download time for other visitors .

some ideas I have is the space could also be used as a starting block to jump to other spaces in the future so each area would be a self contained sub gallery in order to maintain the downloads size of individual areas.

I for one am very interested and excited about the way this particular area could be taken further.

As Roman says as well, one good use for the WIP lounge is for people to load and share an image and discuss it either through the chat or voice in realtime, then they could simply switch the frame back to a simpler texture or lower res image when they have finished if they did not want the image to remain in the space after they had discussed it.

Hi Paul... can i say my opinion??

I see in trueplaces sometimes, the room have 2 persons or even empty..

I think the problem is are many rooms at this point.. Very nice btw, but i think the people are 2 in one room.. 3 in other... 1 in other..

And there's no in the same place...

*Its only an idea...

Limitate one room per day..

Well Friday .... Round table..

Saturday... Forum..

Other point, but thats only for comment to Roman or who knows, and is the idea to see on trueplace 2 or more persons working together on a colavorated space.. thats be a interesting point to see on the trueplaces on the future...

Like a Boxing Fight.. 2 modelers... teaching or showing to others (unable to model or move anithing) how to model on colavorated spaces..

1 december.. first round.. Cayenne and TomG modeling a screw... and show how works in live.. The moderators can speek to all the viewers doesnt matter if are far or near.. Like in a class room.. the teacher is speeking.. jejeje

Are few ideas, i think are good, have potential, and can be a excelent feature for the future..

Hope i explain well..

Best Regards..

Limitate one room per day.

A list of who's in what room would be better so you don't have to bounce around them all to try and find some company. Limiting the rooms themselves could be bad - too many people in one room and conversations could get muddled, you want to talk with someone in particular, you both leave the main party and sneak off to the lakehouse or wherever cos you can see from the list that it's vacant.

I think you are looking something else on Trueplace than a simple chat about modeling technics..

The new WIP lounge:
If you click "Default" on the "Panel" and then click "Upload" you crash.
I'm sure that is an illegal operation.
The "default" doesn't reset the panel back to blank.
If you upload a rendering then want to remove it what is the procedure?

Prodigy has posted a capture of the panel for anyone not familiar with it. Titled "Frame 7"

p.s. no Madmouse we weren't going to delete yours:D
We actually had four avatars there last night! How about the rest of you?

GGGRRRRR!!! I was just about to start sharpening my pointy stick :D

Actually if anyone wants to use the space my image is in then feel free. I only put that crappy old light bulb picture up as a test. I'll certainly be putting up a WIP of my next project though.:D

Works in Progress are nicely filling up! Just remember to keep the size of image files on small side. They become part of the download so we have to watch it. truePlace scenes are cached on your hard drive so consecutive visits to the Gallery should be quicker but the ultimate solution will be streaming the images on gallery walls as you walk around. That will happen over time, we also plan to stream music and videos into some of the spaces, like living room for example, so you could listen to the music with your friends.

There will come a time when we (like every Gallery) will have to make room for new images to be posted by removing the old ones. Right now I am thinking that when gallery is full, we automaticaly remove the oldest post and replace it with "Your Image Here" display so there is always a place for new entries. This will also encourage you guys to update your work in progress, to keep your space in the gallery. Yon know what they say in real estate: It is the location, location, location:)

Here is what Gallery looks like right now from above showing all filled spaces.

Or you could re-work this as the WIP High-rise and simply add a new floor every time one gets used up. :D

I kid, I kid. Maybe.

This is so cool, though. I've got to give this place a visit!

I don't understand how the Gallery is getting full with three empty halls. Why not set a limit to the size files being uploaded. Put panels in all four halls, figure out your max allowed data size of all panels and then put a max data size on each panel.
Either your gallery is too big and cannot hold that many panels or you have ideas other than work in progress for the other halls.
I don't think a time limit is needed yet however if you do....How about putting a glowing red frame around the oldest showing it needs either an update or it is now available.
I also think all the other worlds should branch off this one. The environment here will change most often.

P.S. I had dropped my wallet in that gallery and I spotted it in your aerial view. Thanks...

MMM.. Other idea is the pictures on the walls are downsampled.. and put a hyperlink to the image to pop up a window with the high res picture..

Thats may speed up the initial scene load..

Who knows

 Wow... YES... GREAT ideas you have here, I hope they get implemented soon too, they are desperately needed for many reasons.

I hope "the powers that be" heard you loud and clear on these ideas, you're absolutely right, they would dramatically improve the general usage of truePlaces.
