Roman,
If there is one last good deed you can do for us please release tS7.61 to us. There are lots of users that can keep trueSpace alive once you go.
Thanks for getting us all into 3D in an enjoyable environment.
Thanks and good luck,
Bob

How does the NDA thing work now then? I take it Betas are time restricted to stop them being distributed and used as a long term replacement for tS7.6??
And any chance of that Vray update? Someone must have put some real man hours into that. If it is stable, don't we; the vray owners, deserve whatever was produced? |

Are you all dreaming here ... ?
It's a sad day but I know that TS was dead since Micro$oft bought it ... After it was free for all --> I suppose Caligari Team knew the future of TS.
Micro$oft is here to make money and take the Caligari's code without think about community.
Don't understand why people are happy with a program who has never been finished... Its a long time I have definitly remove TS from my computer.
mmmh sorry to tell this but its time to change ...
If only a miracle a la Blender was possible, I will give money to make it survive.

I'm sorry but I'm with Wireframe with this one. I'd be willing to invest, but sadly only time if a "miricale a la blender" was indeed possible and I hope it is. |

I just don't see the harm in getting 7.61 and Vray 1.52 (or whatever their names are) as they are with no guarantees or promises of fixes. Just what is on the table now before it is filed away under 'had potential' in that big warehouse where they keep the Ark.... |

Why not take the tS code and release it under GPL on sourceforge.net? There has to be some version M$ didn't buy.
Open source the whole package. That's the best legacy you can leave for the users.
My five and a half cents. |

I doubt they would ever release the source. I´m sure MS has some use for some pieces of code around the realtime and LE stuff, that´s why they bought it after all, and I don´t think MS would be invest money just to drop it the other year without the least benefit. Remember, they have only canceled tS, not what was under it´s hood. So this is just wishful thinking.
It´s time to wake up and realize that you have to look for an alternative, the sooner the better, if you haven´t already done so. |

As I said in another thread, I expect MS simply want to lose any 'stigma' associated with the names Caligari and trueSpace, not that they are scrapping the code/software they purchased. They have had time to dissect what was developed by Caligari and now they can look at assimilating it into future projects.
Sure it was a nice offer to let Caligari run as 'it used to be' but I never understood why they would. Seems they can't see why either...
Wow, I got two green dots...cheers whoever that was.
I predict that, within a year, you will be using 'truespace' only you won't know it because it will simply be integrated into a browser. That would also explain why truePlay was scrapped and never resurfaced. Why bother if explorer can run the same real time scenes? |

I think most of us are calm Prodigy but time seems against us. If, as they imply, the site and all content could disappear on Friday there will be nowhere else to make this request. |

I am in this to. I agree with Splinters. I have been a faithful user since V3. Not that I am much better now than I was then, but I realy like TS. I would love to see this morph into a Blender type program. As has been stated..what does MS care about it..they scrapped it. |
