Okay, maybe someone could help me out here, since i've been waiting more than a week or so for a reply about applying multiple bvh files on one model, except this was something I still didn't get a reply to at Autodesk's forum, The Area.

I have some sort of plugin for Maya 8 that allows me to import bvh files into Maya 8. I'm guessing this is possibly the wrong forum and place to ask about Maya, but my question here is more about bvh motion capture files.

My question is:

With most professional software, like Maya 8, how can I apply many bvh files to one character model?

Sorry for asking specifically about Maya, even though this is a Truespace forum, but like I said, it's more about the bvh files and how do you attach many of them to one character. I'm just desperate for help with applying bvh files, because I have no replies on The Area forum for pretty much the same question.

I just thought maybe some people here use Maya, along with Truespace too.

Many thanks!:)

I would think that bvh can be imported one at a time, then make animation clips in tS.

The animation clips can be stacked, moved, adjusted etc.

I have another question now:

But if I import the .obj file or files from Maya into TS7.6 on the model side, and apply the bvh files on the workspace side, will I be able to go back to the model side without anything going wrong?

I've had the skeletons turn into editable objects when switching from the workspace to the model side to make my objects and textures. I mostly still prefer the model side of TS, because i'm used to it, and almost the only reason I use the workspace side is because of its animation features.

Thanks again!

Try to finish your model in model side then go to workspace side and dont move back and foreward its no good to do that....;)

Once you have your bones in place stay in workspace side..

I would try the highend3d site, they may have a mel script which will allow you to import the bvh files

@mrbones

mrbones, I think that's where I got the plugin, and it might have been the only one for bvh file import into Maya 8 there at the time I got it (free too!). I think it came from the highend3d site.

So, what to do now...

1. Should I layer (placing them at the same location as the last bvh skeleton) any bvh files in the model I have in Maya if I were to import the model into TS7.6?

Oh, two more things:

2. I would like it if you could please keep the sale price of $200 for the monster bones mega motion pack at least until after the summer of this year, since I want to get a summer job (hopefully I will get the same job I had part-time over last summer, and it paid $8 to $10 per hour!) Please keep the sale price for as long as you can, because it would mean a lot to me to save up my money from my summer job this year all to buy your monster bones mega motion pack. If it stays at $200, I might be able to afford it after my summer job, and that's what I really want, because I think your bvh motions are cool, and yet I don't even know how in the world you get these motion captures.

3. Do you own a studio where motion capture is made, or do you make it yourself, kind of like home-made motion capture (which I have heard of on the internet somewhere, I just forget what site it was)? I'm just curious.

Thanks a ton mrbones!:)

Thank you everyone for helping!:)

Hi Tam Tam,

Check out Animeeple, It is way Cool, http://www.animeeple.com

It will help you do what you want no matter what that is as long as it is related to character animation,

AS long as the names of the joints match it should be no problem to mix motions and apply multiple motions to one or more rigged characters.

If you enter an animation in the monthly contest and win, you can get the MonsterBones MegaMotions Pak for FREE. LEt me know if you win!

THanks again and Cheers
