Ummm, before I post anything, some guidelines on nudity would be helpful.
What I've been working contains some...I mean, I don't know if it would be considered artistic or sensual. |

I'd just put a couple black squares over the areas in question or put a (nudity!) in the title |

Good question tscorpio. I've been wondering the same myself. Seems like such a family friendly forum that it's probably best to err on the side of caution.
On the other hand anatomy is an important part of organic 3D work so definitely an important topic for the forum. I think as long as the images are tasteful (and we don't post our reference pics LOL) we're probably ok. ;)
Guess in the short run if you post it and they don't like it, you'll probably be asked to remove the images. No biggie. Mostly people here seem to have no problems voicing what they feel is acceptable and what is not, so most likely the forum will moderate itself just fine. I say go ahead and in the end of it, we'll find out the community sentiment. Like Brian said, you probably should put a warning in the title though so people browsing from work or school don't get in trouble.
Of course, it'd be nice to get some guidelines from Norm or Roman about nudity on the forums...

Guidelines on Cgtalk wer ethat as long as Nudity was put into the title then there would be nothing wrong. If people are against it then they wont look because its in the title, the ability to paint/model/sculpt anatomy, including organs such as the penis and vagina have long been respected due to the fact that its one of the most challenging things an artist can do. Pulling it off and creating something that looks right is certainly a challenge and I look forward to seeing it, not for sexual gratification, but for artistic inspiration. |

I can't speak for Caligari, but it seems to me that anybody could walk into just about any art gallery and see nudes. Those are thought of as family friendly places too. I've also seen nudes on CG Societies website. Personally I wouldn't think there is any harm in nudes as long as it's artistic and tasteful. The human form is a subject that has always been a part of the art communities and is one of the more challenging subjects to capture. |

I've posted nude images here before and there was no problem = presumably because it was considered artistic:D . As a simple courtesy to those few unfortunates who consider nudity as something to be avoided it helps to place a simple "(warning: Nudity)" in the title of your thread.
A recent picture of mine featuring a naked fairy (the flying kind ;) ) was accepted for the Caligari Gallery.
When judging nudity in art I always ask myself this question: Would I be happy to hang this picture over my mantel piece? If so then post it. Other projects on the go amongst forum members at the moment include bio-mechanical Satans and a decaying sawn-off hand so if there are any limits as to suitable image content I'd say they are fairly wide.
A personal request: If you are going to show nudity please resist the urge to pre-censor the image. No pixilated pits or black rectangles please. This is censorship which is theft IMHO. The human body cannot by definition, be obscene. (A nude person may act obscenely but cannot be obscene simply by virtue of being nude).
By pixilating, blocking out or otherwise censoring nudity in art we are saying that there is something fundamentally 'wrong' or distasteful about the human body which is (in my mind anyway) an insult to anyone who happens to possess a naked body (which of course we all do).
my 0.02 galactic credits worth.

LOL! I've always said, if you've got it, flaunt it - if you haven't got it, flaunt it anyway!
"Your clothes conceal much of your beauty, yet they hide not the unbeautiful. And though you seek in garments the freedom of privacy, you may find in them a harness and a drain. Would that you could meet the sun and the wind with more of your body and less of your raiment."
