Not sure where this is heading but I guess it will be a WIP for a few weeks. Here is the latest Lightworks/HDRI based render...
Just need to sort out the glasses and get a scene going...:) |

Splinters, how long did that take? How did you work out that bump map?....You know the facial hair and such. The texture work looks like you used an actual photo of yourself right?
You don't mind me asking you these questions do ya? :jumpy: |

Yo Splinters....
...this is just AWESOME work you did here, both the handling of the new face generating software and especially your outstanding rendering skills... it truly floors me! This sure beats the "grumpy old man - looking" avatar you used to use here, maybe people won't be afraid to talk to you now! Hahahaha!
Well done Splinters, VERY well done!

Grumpy...old....man!
Why you, I oughta...grrrrrr! ;)
Glad you like it but I am still not smiling...
Anyway, back to a Vray rendering. Here is Vray 1.5 using GI, HDRI and DOF.
One render here folks...absolutely no composition...:)
Going for that 'moody at sunset' look.
The real beauty here (obviously not me) is that I simply changed the background image from the moonlight image below-used it as a HDRI image too, brought some fencing in and turned DOF on (and tweaked it). No more work than that for a complete change of mood (although I put it through PS to adjust colours to suit)
I guess it goes without saying that I have ordered my copy of Vray 1.5... |

Hi Splinters
It's amazing how light changes the impression, both in real and 3d.
Looked at this pic in the morning on the laptop and just thought ok a good new pic but nothing special.
In the evening I looked through this post again, same laptop, and wooaw, what a difference, allmost photo like.
Very well done I must say and again remind of how much difference it makes depending on what screen and lightning one has.
When emptying photos from my Canon 350 I never delete a photo first thing I allways use my 21' Triniton screen were I can see the photos fully.
Wonder what I can switch that with, it's getting old...
But hey again that's a real piece you got there very well done!

Yeah (it's ok we have it here in the UK too ;)). Splinters maybe you should do a raised arm with a sidearm pointing towards the 'camera'. |

Very nice Splinters - and great to see DOF used convincingly too!
Re CSI; Miami - we get that here in New Zealand too, along with the original CSI show. Why are so many US television shows named by their initials? CSI, ER, The OC, .... |

So that it doesn't take as long to say their names. Crime Scene Investigation: Miami is almost a sentence in itself, however those that enjoy talking i'm sure will give you the whole name instead of the abbreviations.;) |

It is Lightworks Prodigy...but yes, I need to work on it. I just thought I would post a quick attempt to show potential 7.5 owners what you can do in a few minutes work...:)
I also thought it was interesting to see the comparison between realtime workspace and render. |

hooo... Its like the hairs are not completed drawed or in some parts are semi transparent.. who knows..
By the way, how many hairs you use and how long it takes to render with lightworks?? :) |

Hi Splinters...
I was wondering if you have any plans of updating that Chainlink Fence / Sunset Image with any of your more recent takes on this. It's a very cool perspective worth pursuing more I think. That's my favorite here apart from the great one you put up in truePlaces. Well done either way! :D
