When I installed and ran TS 7 for the first time on my new PC, I noticed a couple of problems. First, each library on the right of the screen has a tab with a duplicate copy of it. In addition, there are 2 sets of configuration tabs at the top (the Default, Full, 4 View, etc.).
I was able to delete the extra libraries (anyone know why they were there in the first place?), but I cannot seem to remove the second set of configuration tabs. I went into the TS directory and found a directory called RS Configurations, and there were 2 copies of each configuration there. I deleted the copies, but the tabs are still on the TS main screen.
Any help in resolving this issue would be appreciated.

Hi Scott. First, try this. In the upper left hand corner of the interface, there is the Default Tab. This is for setting the interface to the default configuration. This ought to get rid of the 2 copies, and leave you with one. It is also a good way to get back to a known configuration, should you get into a corner (I did that at first :-D )
If that does not help, then try this:
In the truespace7/ts directory, there is a file called truespace.cfg. Shut down truespace, and delete this file from the directory. Then, restart truespace. The truespace.cfg file will be rebuilt. This may solve your problem.
HTH!

PS did you go to SigGraph in Boston? That was cool! |

Neither approach worked. The defaults tab you refer to is the set of tabs I have 2 of. It does reset to default, but with 2 sets of the tabs.
My Win XP is not set up to show file extensions, so I took what I thought was the right file and moved it to another directory (afraid to delete). I started up TS 7 and still have 2 sets of the tabs.
Interestingly enough, when I selected the other copy of the Defaults tab, my screen turned all grey and I was locked out of my computer and TS 7. Had to reboot. |

I have never seen the problems that you are experiencing here. You might try to reset the default context.
Select this button. :icon_ResetDefaultCo
If this does not work you most likely need to reinstall. It is suggested that you save your objects, scenes, and whatever you have created to an area outside of where you installed trueSpace. Then after removing trueSpace you should delete the trueSpace7 folder and all of its contents before reinstalling
I would suggest that you call Caligari for technical support. |

My Win XP is not set up to show file extensions,
In Explorer, go to Tools menu -> Folder Options.
These are the settings I use. The 1 specific to your comment is "Hide extensions for known file types".
