Anyone successfully used Clothmotion in tS7.1?

I have version 1.22 and I am following the tutorial supplied (drape cloth over torus), I am following the instructions but my plane ends up very blocky indeed. I have quade divided about four times but the outcome is very blocky and not like the tutorial. If I try to add SDS to the simulated object it just resets to where the simulation started.

Never used this before but I really need cloth in some renders-so, any tips on getting this to work properly?

Here is a before and after-simulation seems ok but how to get the smooth effect seen in the tutorial?

My own experience is that you have to have a much more detailed mesh than the one indicated. If you want some gathering occuring where the plane collides with the object try rotating the plane on each axis a few degrees and give it an angled collision with torus. That will give a nice "fabricy" look.

Sorry I can't be more specific - I'm looking at the forum from work during my lunch hour as usual and I just can't remember all the details of the plugin!!

From what I remember it was that you would sds the cloth (I think after the initial animation) but as you just said it resets itself for some reason. Try adding sds atfer closing the clothotion panel because I think when clothmotion is opened it interfers with ts keyframes (Not a guarantee but something to try).

I thnk there was also something on this but in the old forums.

using of plugins for previous program versions can cause trouble.

tS 7 isn't production ready in that way (except the new Vray renderer but thats another story).

I would recommend to use tS 6 where those plugins really work. Building the whole scene together, save it as scn file and load it into tS 7.

That's what I would recommend as well. It was the only way for me to get that "Jello Cube" animation to work.
