I was wondering if there was a way to make the reference map plane easier to see. I like to model in transparent outline view, but it would be awesome if the reference maps were solid view. Is this possible? |

Rather than set the display mode globally, you can also set it differently for each object.
So, why not set transparent outline for the object you are modelling and solid view for the reference plane? |

Maybe because he is using ts 6.6 or below?
Take a look here:

With this little plugin you can set every object from wire display up to totally solid display. |

His screenshot shows he is running tS6.x which has the ability to do per object display modes natively. |

Really? How? I never found it, and use Rotoscop instead ... |

I think there are several ways
but I opend the "icon finder" and drag&dropped the visibility icons from the list at the viewscreen like in the sample:
2398
If you now select an object you can choose which mode you want.
With the last button you can toggle the object mode on/off (use the native vis mode or the one in the list) |

Let me guess, this bar is somewhere hidden in the 3D Controls, which i have natively off because they mainly disturb me at modeling ... :D
Anyway, we now have several ways provided for that. I still prefer Rotoscop :) |

right click on the render icon to open the display options panel. just enable the 'pass through' box, and you'll find your background image plane stays solid.

Another thougth: you want to model in transparent outline? Then set view to solid. And activate "transparent edit" checkbox in the preferences. When you enter point edit, your mesh becomes transparent outlined ... :) |

Darn. Its been so long since I've used truespace. I forgot that when you go into edit the mesh it becomes transparent. That's what I was looking for the entire time. Since the release of ts7 I haven't been really using truespace anymore. Maybe it was the gradient of difference/confusion for me. But I recently decided to start modeling again but using ts6.6 instead. If i really need the extra features of 7 I can always import. Thanks for the replies though.
