I 'forgot' to mention that step Tiles, becasue I have never needed to do it.

Then i wonder what is different at my side here. I have reinstalled TS7.1, installed the Patch, and so i started really from scratch. I had the default settings. More default isn't possible. I also followed every step one by one ...

... Tiles you go to explorer delete default.ctx ...

Whoah, tinkering around with config files to work with TS? What comes next? Command line? Using high level coding to setup Textures, Objects and Light setup like in Pov Ray? Wow ...

I need a software to create 3D content. In an easy way. And not to make a bachelor alone to get the basics to work. I haven't even started to work with TS 7.

Only quick thing i noticed is that object info panel got a down development. In TS 6.6 you can double click to mark the values. Doesn't work any longer in TS 7 Modeler. You really have to select the value by dragging. This slows down my workflow. I work a lot with those values in the Object Info Panel. And gives also the danger of not selecting the whole value at once. Even more extra work.

Let's have a look what other surprises are waiting for me. I am really frustrated :/

rightclick i just open the pulldown menu like in TS 6.6:

Here i can choose select all. I have german Windows. Alles Markieren means select all.

But in TS 6.6 i just need to left double click to mark the value. Like i did here. Just a double click:

Definitely a lost feature in TS 7 Modeler ...

Tiles, try this..left click & drag to select and highlight in a few boxes..then right click in those boxes ..time and time again ..it highlights..and remembers the last selection highlighted, if you only had the last digit selected it will be like that the next time..left clicking resets it to no selection [if you didn't select anything] when you right click again there will be no selection..:)

in the image I selected the last three digits ..next time I right click in that box it will select the last three digits

So simple, even an eight year old child could do it!
Now, someone fetch him an eight year old child.
/sarcasm off

And that's the point. It was the fastest way, and is gone in TS 7. Again a once working and very useful feature is gone in a higher version. Again you need a workaround instead. Good ol Caligari Tradition it seems. A once introduced feature looses its functionality with every higher version step by step.

Yeah, i know, it's the stoneold buggy TS 6.6 core inside TS 7.11 we are talking about here. Which will disappear in future releases. And so maybe this tradition will stop once TS 7 is finished. Nevertheless ...

Unfortunately I have learned in the past that Caligari doesn't care about bug or quirk reports. I once posted lots of Bugs and quirks reports for TS 6.6. Had even setup a complete page that listed this bugs and quirks. Worth a Service Pack 3. Nothing happened to even one of them.

So i stop discussion about this point now. It's useless and offtopic here anyway. This topic was about configuring workspace.
