I tried to render a wireframe object.

I wanted to get black outline on white background.

How can I change the colour of the background?

I only got a grey background.

Right click one of the render buttons and a bunch of render option icons will pop up..background color is in there (TS 6.6 and down anyway, not sure about 7).

Did you test this in wireframe modus?

I use 7.5

Wigand, the only difference from ts6.6 is right clicking doesn't open the render option toolbar [it's open already maybe minimized] it opens the render options panel ..right clicking on the color icon or left clicking on the word background on the options panel[in stack view] you will see the background color panel//

oh how can you have ts7.5 ?? ts7.11 maybe..

Interesting. Using 6.6, I can change the background color to anything I like using the "Background Effects Shader-Color", but I can't change the wireframe color. Wireframe only seems to render out in red.

You can change the color of the wireframe in TS6.6 by opening up the Display Options.

Display Options is accessed by right-clicking on any of the 'Draw Object As' icon (The one you choose for wireframe, solid display, etc.)

From there you can change the wireframe color by adjusting the 'Select' color. (it's the upper left hand option).

If you are talking about the Player side, open the Preferences :icon_PrefAspect: in the stack view, clicking inside the Player window and Link Editor window opens their preferences. The panel Player - Window is where you can change the background color by double clicking the Pick Color Control.
With your object selected click on the Show Objects Attribs button, which will now open the Object Render Attributes panel. Click on the Enable Obj Mode and adjust the settings to your preference. Also under the Default tab are more advance options.
The Player - Ground panel is where you can enable/disable the ground/grid/floor, number of tiles, color of tiles, and Zoom.
Then render to file.

I'm aware that that's true for real time display, but when I 'Render Scene' using 'Rendering Quality-Wireframe' or 'Rendering Quality- Hidden Line', the wireframe always renders red.
In any case, the question was directed at 7.x users, and it looks like trueblue has the incredibly easy, completely intuitive solution.(cough, cough)

0. select an obj.

1. right click here to open display option.

2. hold here to change color.

it's work well on tS7.11 too ;)

<edit>

on my opinion, current ts's wireframe and hidden line render is not actually render process, it's only something like opengl or directX view as wireframe options.

with real rendering procress we can render out something like on second image.

Thanks to all who gave good hints and help for my problem.

Now I can say:

It is possible to change the color of the wireframed objects

and the background for rendering (model mode).

But it seems not possible to use the graduated, image

or clouds background.

Only the simple color background works right.

Is this your experience too?

Render to 32 bit TGA and you should be able to put the wireframe over any background you like during post-process. The TGA will open in your Photoshop or Photoshop clone program with the background as a separate channel that you can replace with a gradient or texture.

Thanks, that is a good idea.
