Due to the lack of lights setup library in Player, I use the "encapsulate lights" trick to save the setup in the objects library.
But if I reload an encapsulated light set, I find it hard to manage the lights : I have to enter the encapsulated object in the LE to modify a light because its options do not show up in the Stack View.
Also, how can I add a new light to the encapsulated ones ?
Well, I was wondering if there was a simple way to "de-capsulate" encapsulated objects. I mean to unpack them in the scene. |

If you select your light in the scene or inside your EncapsulatedLights you can see it in the Stack under Objects.
You can insert your new light from the library, when the EncapsulatedLights is opened or you are inside where the other lights are. |

Oups, yes, you are right, it works in 7.11 :)

Thanks for the tip Trueblue. I think I should add an item on your LE navigator to quicky access the Lights capsule :D |

Very true as long as you Encapsulate objects in 3D (Glue as Sibling).
Which would mean selecting a light in the scene on the Player view would only open the Encapsulated object in the Stack/Objects. You would need to go inside the Encapsulated object to select a light for it to show in the Stack/Objects. The difference between Encapsulated 3D = True and Encapsulate = False is that the Encapsulate3D gets a Transform connected to all objects and you can Unglue each object in Modeler view. Also you can move and rotate all lights as a group. Where as Encapsulate you can not. So I guess you would have to ask yourself, "Self? Which way would be more beneficial?". |

Or better yet make buttons on your EncapsulatedLights object. |

I assumed that Ecapsulate objects was not for grouping 3d objects and Ecapsulate objects in 3D was |

LE is still a black art to me but, having made those icons and having to ask several times what they mean, I am of the understanding that encapsulate is for nodes in the LE and encapsulate in 3D is the LE equivalent of the old 'Glue as...' icon for 3D objects in the viewpoint..
Still, you guys should know better than me...:o |
