Just thought I'd post a solution to an issue I was having in getting virtuaout (1.3) and virtualight (1.4) to work together in TS 6.6.. after following all directions I still kept getting a black DOS box that would flash very briefly with

"ERROR: No file extension in input"

The main thing that helped me resolve it was the following old thread:

http://forums.caligari.com/discus/messages/1580/18634.html?

Specifically what finally solved the problem was changing the output directory in Virtuaout to point to the "examples" folder in the virtualight folder ... the complete path cannot contain spaces or the "." (period) character

my previous path was "C:\williams\TS6.6\virtualight1.4\examples"

once I moved it to "C:\williams\virtualight\examples" everything worked immediately. You could probably point it anywhere as long as the "no periods" idea is followed.

Notice I moved the virtualight folder and removed the version (1.4) info from the folder..so I got rid of 2 folders in the path containing the "." character. Not sure which one (if not both) were the issue but I think playing it safe by excluding "." altogether might be the best way to do it.

Also a reminder to make sure and change the system properties\batch file (as per virtualight install instructions) to reflect any changes you make to folder paths.

Hopefully this will help someone avoid tearing their hair out.
