Simbiont TS help // Archive: Tech Forum 1  |   Order by default Post by splinters // Jan 19, 2007, 1:03am splinters Total Posts: 4148 After buying a new PC I am now in the process of installing old programs but I am only able to find Darksim Simbiont tS version 2.51. I remember that version 2.1 put thumbnails in and .mtl libraries so you could preview the shader in the material editor. When I load a simbiont material from that library now I just get a plain white material. I can manually load the darksim shaders (downloaded from the website) in but I need these library materials to work. Without version 2.1 of Simbiont any idea how I can get this to work again? I seem to remember a fix from the old forums but I am just too ill today to get my head around it...:confused: Post by Bobbins // Jan 19, 2007, 3:03am Bobbins Total Posts: 506 Two things spring to mind: 1) I think there was a change between Simbiont versions where the folder name it installed to went between Simbiont TS and SimbiontTS. The solution used to be to make folder with the alternate name and copy the contents over. 2) There is a simbiont.cfg file that can be opened in any text editor. Make sure it points to the correct folder for the Simbiont files. You might find some of the entries point to a wrong or even non-existant folder for wherever you've installed tS. Copied SimbiontTS folder out of Darksim folder and uninstalled 2.0...reinstalled 2.51 and copied SimbiontTs folder back into Darksim directory. Long winded but worth it...:D
