Is there a way to export\render to .wmv from TS ? I often want to post short animations on the forum, but .avi is not allowed as an attachment.. any ideas would be appreciated.

Depending what version of Windows you have, you might have a tool called Windows Movie Maker which should let you import an avi and export a wmv.

I use Adobe Premiere to fiddle with animation formats etc but other movie editing software (e.g Pinnacle software) should do the job also.

You could just zip your avi and attach that? Most people should be able to open it that way I would imagine.

It's generally a bad idea to render straight to any movie file format from tS - powercut partway through, you end up with a useless file; find an error, have to re-render the whole thing; discover bad compression settings have ruined it, you dont have to just re-encode, you have to re-render; etc. A search will uncover all the reasons as this one comes up from time to time :)

So I would suggest rendering to lossless frames (eg TGA or, my choice, PNG). Then use an external program to turn it into a movie file. This frees you to change compression settings etc without a re-render to go with it, and will allow you to use a program of choice to convert to any file format of choice.

HTH!
