It's OK. the German speakers have stepped out of line and forgotten that is it is suitable to post in an international lanuguage that can be spoken by most of the users of this forum. After all, they have their own German tS forum to post in so that only they can participate in but but that isn't enough so we have put up with this nonsence.

Guess you don't have any imagination how much of english stuff we get here in germany and which we are forced to translate.

You guessed wrong. I worked in an international service team that covered Europe, the Middle East and Africa for several years (so perhaps you have no idea what that is like dealing with so many different languages on a daily basis, rather than just 3 or 4 or so, because I do). I recall how my German colleages always laughed at how the localised German translations of Windows dialogues, help files and error messages were so poor (most of them wouldn't even fit into the preset spaces in the windows) that they used to revert to the English versions for the sake of sanity. Also, my Brother lived in Germany for over 20 years and now resides in Austria.

I'm not being awkward but there is a certain common decency in posting in a language that is undertsood by all users here. Like it or not, that common language happens to be English, so excluding the majority of users by posting in a native tongue is quite arrogant, especially when you have your own localised forums to post to in German.

I suppose posting in Native American "Kaw" language would be out of the question then.

Apparently not. Feel free and go ahead - just don't rely on too many responses!

Bobbins why are you a looser?

Why do you even care, this has nothing to do with you so why do you have to push everyone??? Even twice, why bother to reply?

This is a free forum so feel free to use whatever language you want.

If only the administrator could ban this kind of stupid remarks... but then again why should they need to baby sit just because someone is out of the line.

or are you making the rules now!?

Hey the Dogs here are hot! There was no harm done. If you want English put it in writing! We're all good people and a little flexibility wouldn't hurt anyone. This Forum is made up of a lot of different nationalities and most of the time they do speak English. There are a lot of English speaking people who come here that make no sense. I thought what was going on was actually funny.

Their also all very good at using TS too!

@vizu: yes, he's german, you should remember him from the (now vanished) german ts-forum.

C'mon how many of the native english speakers here could say from themselfs to have mastered another language than english? No silly jokes that could offend someone are made here. If someone thinks a truespace board in any other language is made so others can't understand it, you are far from the truth, in fact, THAT sounds quite arrogant.

Perhaps someone has a constructive answer to the initial question here?

Ok, everything said or done has it's consequences. I said something in a wrong language at the wrong place and was told by a Caligari Pro team member, who I take as a higher level of responsibility because of this status,

that this was absolutely wrong and arrogant.

I don't want to be arrogant and so insult others by this, so that accusation means for me I have to take the consequences.

In my postings or tutorials there for sure are a lot of german words, phrases or sentences !

So I deleted all my postings, sorry there wer so many that I needed over 2 hours and so someone possibly could still read something wrong.

Left now are only the tutorials in the tutorium which are locked. But I already did send a message to Norm that he will delete them when he gets to work on monday. Meanwhile it's already after midnight here in Germanby, but I wanted to leave this cleaned up so no one else would get harmed.

Perhaps to add: there is no german truespace forum anymore , guess otherwise buffolli would have posted there. So be aware that someone of the people posting in the former german forum will not know to use their mother language in this forum.

Beg you pardon buffoli that I spilled your posting with my ignorant arrogance.

There is nothing more to say to this !

Can i say something?? you are fighting because are many German users, and they want speak in their own lenguages..

Someday i want to make a new thread for those who speak Spanish like me.. And i don't remember who say to me i cant..

Then, i became mad.. because as all we know my english is worst than many german users...

And whats happend?? i left the forum because i dont speak a good english?? no.. i still working learning and practice my english.. Yes i know its not enough. :D

But we must understand this forum have lot of people from diferents cultures and lenguages... and we are in the same place..

If i start to speak in spanish.. may many many users dont understand..

Bueno hablemos un poco en español si les parece.. que pasa si comienzo a hablar asi.. y explicar sobre texturas, y como modelar en truespace y movemos el mouse por acá y bueno.. hablo de esta forma ???

Somebody understand without a translator?? naa only a native spanish user gonna understand..

And thats happend when you speak in german.. the same thing...

The English is a middle lenguage.. all in here understand more or less the english.. and we can share our knowledge here..

If we start to speak in our own lenguages the forum became in a stupid madness..

I Agree, The caligari forum must be in english.. and if we want to speak and talk with other users on our native lenguagess, we gonna make our own forums..

Thats the rules guys and i understand its fare ..

The spaceball name rang a bell and I ran a quick search on the old caliForum and came up with this:
http://members.ozemail.com.au/~snewnham/ (http://members.ozemail.com.au/%7Esnewnham/)

As far as using other languages, I personally don't have a problem with it.
I may not understand your question, but you're free to ask it.

Is a shame really I like the International flare here.
I will never get over the Pancakes thread awhile back. I had no idea how different people from around the world like thier pancakes. Lemon? Yuck!
English = The hardest language to understand in the whole world. Sometimes it is mostly Greek to me.
Emma I hope you come back, your contributions were and will be appreciated by me.
I know lets all talk in jScript!

I never see a problem when I see users of a forum I am reading who choose to have a conversation in their native language. It reminds me how lazy I have become over the years, I only speak and read/write English anymore, where many of the people in these forums are able to converse in 2 or more languages.

I hope people do not get too hung up on enforcing a one language rule, in thee end we are all here to speak the same language of TrueSpace :D

Emma, I hope you reconsider taking down your tutorials, I was starting to study them. You did a great job on them too!

In response to my comment about translating the Sweedish Chef,

Ask, and ye shall receive. (http://www.rinkworks.com/dialect/)

lol. Already had babelfish.altavista.com to go to. There's still no way I can translate what the Sweedish Chef said on the Muppet Show. Wouldn't even have a clue how to type it in. :D

P.K.

P.S. - I know folks got heated in here but lets not drag perceived pecking orders into this. They don't hold water anyway. The only ones with real authority are the admin for the site and Roman.
