This one came about when in another thread I suggested using a Frog for an Ad. This is not the Ad but the idea of creating Frogs sounded like fun! The full rendering is already completed (in my head) so don't expect changes on this one. Actually I'm having a blast with this one and wanted to share some of it with you! (The main reason you haven't heard from me in the speed challenges):) The completed work will be put in "Cartoon Corner (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=3337)".
I hope you like it.
Edit: Inside the "Steinie Household" we have given each one a name. Starting from the left...
Google Eyes
Eric the Spectator
Vic as in "Victim"
and
Jeremiah was a Bull Frog (Three Dog Night)
Getting artifacts in the Blue background after uploading, not in original. So when done it will look less crappy...:D |

Well luckily they haven't been eaten yet, so yes legs and hands will be coming. So far almost everything has been done in TS and rendered with VRay. I used UVMapper to apply the skin and TS 7 workSpace UV editor to make smaller adjustments in realtime. Not sure if I can get the right look for the legs using only TS tools for modeling. I want this one to look real nice. Not much feedback so like a saying in Mad Magazine...

Thanks Guys!
I'm currently working on the hands and feet, then on to the condiments. A couple more things after that (hehehe) and I'm done. I"m happy with it so far but not getting feedback so something might be wrong with it, not sure. I think it's because I had said nothing was going to change so no one is commenting. Concerned a little about the lighting but this is the look I was after, a bunch of guys sitting at a darkened diner/bar...
W!zard, I don't know what Rendo Cartoon Corner is. Any link? I will be adding "Fly Away" to "Cartoon Corner" as I mentioned and then Renderosity.
I envision it winning the Gallery, Caligari makes T-Shirt from it, sells them all to "DigitalDali's girlfriends, and he has to look at my work the rest of his life!:D |

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
If Caligari does make T-shirts out of it, it would probably be my favorite shirt lol!!!
Maybe if you scoot the camera to the left a little bit (unless you're planning on something being to the right); don't completely center it, but right now I think it's a little too off-centered...
Looks great other than that!

Haha, looking good Steinie! Only thing is the frogs toes look more like talons than toes.... Maybe smooth them out just a little bit? Idk; just my opinion...
Looking great, though!:D
Oh, one question...: how did you make the salt that's falling out of the shaker?

lol. Love this work. The frogs kinda creep me out but then that's probably the point. Just something about googley-eyed frogs with great binocular vision. Poor old fly doesn't stand a chance... :D

I have a feeling that the "mystery items" will answer all questions regarding this piece.
Those frogs sure do look eager for something! Expression on 2nd from the left is priceless :D |

OK I really need everyone's feedback on this one. Do you like this one which is brighter or the last post which is darker?
Remember your after the lighting of a bar/diner/casual place. I'm getting mixed reaction at home and want to see what you
all think.
Thanks in advance. |

lol. I was going to say the darker one but that's just me. Ketchup seems a bit too bright in the latter one and the background jumps a bit forward. Perhaps some lighting effects a bit more local to the frogs and soup bowl in specific. |

I made the changes to the lighting because I saw the same problems. Same two are for comparison. Brighter or Darker? |

The darker one!
Would like to have it as a poster somewhere, maybe the toilet in the country house? no to much flies ;)
Seriously though I do like it because it reminds of photo like even if it's not and that I don't see on the brighter one, that would not do it as a poster on my toilet...
Keep up the good work.

I like the brighter one but would also like to see the background a little darker so the frogs are a little more visually seperated from the scene.
Re Rendo Cartoon Corner - sorry Bob I gave you the wrong name - it's called the Rosity Cartoon Corner and worth checking out for a regular giggle if nothing else. You should find it here (http://www.renderosity.com/news.php?viewStory=13678). |
