The difference is subtle but the brighter one hits the finish line first for me.
Loving the look of this. The frogs are fab but overall it's kinda groovy, bit like a virtual collage. |

The only problem I see is that the two frogs on the left are a considerably lighter color than the two on the right, and this is more noticable in the lighter one.
So for that reason, I like the darker one, but even in that one, the color of the frogs are very different (I like the darker texture better).
Looking good Steinie!:D

Ambrose, when I was a kid my Grandparents had an outhouse we used on their farm. Your right, this would look great hanging in there! I agreed with your "go dark" reasoning.
W!zard, I always value your wisdom and you were right about darkening the background to make the foreground stand out. My adjustments were slight but I did make them so I hope you like the changes in the finale. My daughter said "Vic" looked real in the darker rendering and I didn't want to loose that.
WWitch, at first I thought you said "Virtual College" and you had me thinking of young drunken Frat Frogs.... :)
trueSpaced, your energy should be bottled! Your new here but I can tell you have gobs of talent. The color difference is because they are different species of frogs. On the left are tree frogs (bright green) and on the right side are the older and bigger bulls.
spacekdet, no soup for you!
My house is right next to a stream and it has many frogs. Now when I go outside and my kids hear them croaking I say I'm the "Frog Whisperer":D |

Did you use a camera flash for your frogs ;)
I can not explain it right, but the left frogs seem to be
flat. Maybe I am a little late for this suggestion but if it is still possible
to change something with the light...
Therefore, the darker picture is the better. :) |

I am late too with my praise, but I am watching Steinie for a long time and he is getting consistently better. Just recently his artwork started to appear in our monthly galleries. |

Thanks guys but two things are making me nervous:
1) My work has improved since Prodigy gave me his awarded Caligari t-shirt and his kids are starting to call me Dad!
2) The "Big Cheese" response is next to the "Big Mouse"!
The bottom line is TS is making my work better and others here too.:) |

Just for you guys - pages and pages of frog jokes here:
http://allaboutfrogs.org/funstuff/jokes.html
Including such gems as:
What kind of shoes do frogs wear?
Open toad!
NB - edit: actually, assuming this is where Prodigy got his jokes in the first place, as found them both after a few minutes more flicking through... |

Before I close this thread I want to say thanks to MadMouse for helping me chose the right tools to texture with. Your welcome Bob, but all the tools in the world are no good without the skill to use them, and you've got plenty of that :D |
