Just a question about becoming a pro team member, is it a one of payment and also does it give you access to all plugins like the FX pak etc and all training plus all future upgrades for free?

If you click on the 'Store' button at the top of the page and then click on the 'Subscriptions' button, it will take you to the ProTeam (http://www.caligari.com/Store/proteam/default.asp?SubCate=S2subscriptions&Cate=STproTeam) page.

There are links to ProTeam features and faq there. :)

I don't understand this answer:
Q: Are there any trueSpace proTeam components available individually?

A: Yes: The courses are available separately for $79 each, and the Conversion Pack and Flash plug-in are also available separately. Items which are available separately are listed in our online store.

Are you saying that these courses are an additional $79.00 but only with a membership?

What Courses ARE included?

All courses are included.
Items Team Caligari program are included like the Facial Animator when it was brand new, flash tsx was created by Caligari.
Items like Vray are third party as well as many of the "paks". So they are not included in proTeam. proTeam lasts 1 year. It is a subscription based scenario. Smart money has always been with proTeam purchase and renewal. Sales department gives a great deal on renewal for proTeam when the time comes.

I wonder if they'll have a special offer soon... It's a bit steep for me otherwise.

Norm, do the Sales Dept email when a membership is up for a renewal? And do they make an offer or do you have to try and deal? lol

Yes, a special offer is sent out when a proTeam membership is coming up for expiry - it will be in the month that your membership expires.

As noted - all courses are included. The $79 is the usual price of buying the course if you are NOT in proTeam. All Caligari developed software is included, which means that third party items are not included (V-Ray, the rayPak, dePak, gamePak etc).

HTH!

From what I understand Proteam is being phased out. Services are still being provided to existing members, but its not being sold anymore.

I think part of the reason is an intent to focus equally on all paying customers. And I don't think proTeam was all that popular anyway. It's a bit of a bummer since if you caught a deal it was a great way to get the courses at a reasonably good price. Unfortunately most of the courses are outdated now. :(

Maybe once 8.0 is reached and more courses are available for Workspace side of things, a course subscription pricing can be set up, since I think that's mainly what people used proTeam for anyway?

Since I'm self-taught I missed quite a few things I'm sure.:p
